    You mentioned loving the Internet because it allows you to have contact with adults. There are a lot of people who criticize the 'overuse' of emails and IM. Their argument is that people don't meet face-to-face as much as they should. Well, I have a different take on that.

    Before the Internet, and widespread use of the automobile; before the advent of air travel and the telephone - people who met once and liked one another and didn't know if they would see them again for years or if ever...well, these people were able to develop and maintain lifelong friendship by writing long letters to one another.

    The Internet provides us with the same outlet - writing as a means of developing and maintaining close friendships with others. The only difference between today and 'the good ol' days' is the speed with which that happens.

    I know you didn't take it this way, but I hadda say it anyhow. I don't expect anything from teammates re challenges or pages read. We all have lives that can easily get in the way - and those lives should ALWAYS be a priority. I was just trying to make it easier to do if you felt like trying, because for the amount of points involved, it is a lot of effort - even with how I'm going about it.

    I'm here - just got home and finished with supper - sorry! I see that we have The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe in common. That's what got me started iwth fantasy in junior high - and I just re-read it last year.

    Karla if you are still on, we are waiting for Laura to tag but we could just claim a free pass for her and then you could post to Ma and she will have to mention it when she goes to the finsh line. What do you and MA think? I think I am heading to bed so letting you all decide but we do have a free pass just for this relay but only ONE. Not sure what you want to do?

    Thanks for the Friendship request. You posted it with a message saying, 'We are teammies.' You have no Profile, and I can figure out nothing about you except by the Groups you're in and by the Notes on your Home page. But how can I resist when you use an absolutely incredible Profile picture?

    OKAY. Here's what Anita posted about the Free Skip.

    FREE SKIP

    I've decide to give each team one FREE SKIP. If you have a team member who is on vacation or non-responsive or whatever, you can use this FREE SKIP.

    When you get the the finish, you must indicate which name the FREE SKIP was used to skip over.

    But only once!!! Also, I will award 25 bonus pages if every team member participates and the SKIP is not utilized. Alert Robert to continue with the person after him. I will alert Ma about the Free Skip process, so when you post on Ma's home page, she can type UNFINISHED in the appropriate place. How's that sound?

    Great idea. I don't know how we report a Free Pass, but lemme see if I can figure it out.

    Tell me what you think of this? How about one of us post to Robert that we are using the Free Pass for Loves2teach. Then we can, hopefully, continue on our merry way.

    I'm glad you're keeping an eye out for Laura's comment, but before that happens, Loves2teach has to reply to Robert, who will then reply to Shan, who will reply to Laura, and then you're next.

    However..........................I sent Loves2teach a note, but she hasn't logged in to Shelfari for 19 hours.

    Heads up. I just got this message from Anita.

    There doesn't appear to be a message from loves2teach03 on Robert's shelf. I looked twice . . .there also wasn't a message from Karla on Ma's shelf/home page (although Ma explained that Karla sent an email - - but emails don't count).

    The messages must string together in time/date stamp order. (So sorry to be such a stickler for details, but otherwise it really wouldn't be a fair race). So you need to circle back starting with loves2teach03 and move forward again from there. Members can copy and paste any existing messages that are further down the chain as opposed to writing new and original ones.

    So, keep your eyes open. Thanks.
