I love to read books, obviously. There is nothing better than a day at the beach with a book
or a rainy day curled up with a book, or a cold wintry day, stuck inside with a book!I have 2 "bins" at home with about 80 books all waiting to be... more »

Love Belfer's books! She writes Historical fiction with incredible detail. She is an in depth researcher that weaves stories of historical significance and accuracy with credible characters and human emotion. Her stories are educational. It is incredible to think that just 70 years ago people died from infection due to illness and minor injuries that we take for granted now.I didn't think I would enjoy the penicillin aspect of this story, but I did.I have a whole new outlook and respect for antibiotics!

    A Book Lover's Romp!
Intriguing, mysterious and humourous! ENJOYABLE. Read this book in 2 days. I just enjoyed this book. I'm not into techno themes at all, but even that was enjoyable to read about. This was DaVinci Code meets Big Bang Theory (tv) meets Harry Potter! Fun read! This has to be the "coolest" book I've ever read.

    SPOLIER ALERT:

While I was reading this book,I kept looking at the cover,it intrigued me, I thought maybe there was a code there too. Never did find anything other than a repeat of the pattern of books. I had this book on my table and getting ready to return it to the library. I turned the tv off and then the lights and there was the fun! The books on the cover glow in the dark!

This book has some great receipes for healthier eating and some great tips. The author gets alittle bossy abt organizing your house and sock drawers, but she has good tips. The recipes are good. She is always dictating that flourless bread should be used, but then half her recipes involve pasta, doesn't make sense if you are going flourless. This has some good overall changes and advice that can be done to be healthy, but it is more pick and choose than to follow her progam to the letter. Also not practical for people that work outside the home. Her advice abt calling a good friend upon rising to start your day off happy is impractical for working people.

Fictional story of Derrick Thornton, taken from some of the real life events of the author Helen Hooven Santmyer. A coming of age story, life and living. Some parts were difficult to read the way they were written, but overall a very enjoyable book. The last 100 pages brings it altogether.I didn't enjoy this as much as LADIES OF THE CLUB,but it was a very good read and a must if you are a fan of Helen Hooven Santmyer.

'Could not" finish.Author needs to get out of the house more and into the real world.I knew this would be a "light" mystery, but the protagonist is immature and irresponsible,no character development and sloppy plot.
Too many good books to read to waste anymore time on this one.
