Added Crow Lake to my "plans to read!"
I've been wanting to read it since I saw him speak in Seattle last March. I didn't like Tanto and the Lone Ranger because it was so depressing, but I was different then. He's a fabulous speaker, you should look him up on YouTube.
SO glad you liked it. I couldn't believe how much I did. I rarely jump on the internet and tell everyone I know with such confidence to read a book , but that one really grabbed me.
Thank you :-) I wish you were there too. It won't be the same without you. :-( We might prank call you, you never know!! Tee hee!Do you know when you think you and Mr. Snyder and will be coming up next? Either to Columbus or Williamsport?
Haven't. Am SO behind on fiction. Am adding Graveyard tales to my reading list right now! Am going to see Mary next weekend. Am stoked!
I remember, I wish I had easy access to your library!
I will totally add that to my list. Yeah, I agree that was sexist but I think that's the attitude that was cultivated in boys that age at that time in that country. Or at least that is what I'd like to think. It's weird how some boys idolize their fathers despite the awful things fathers do to them.
I read the Alchemist when I lived with Patoula. It was interesting, but I don't remember it very well.I saw that last week, I'm really excited about that movie!
I kind of wish that "Atlas Shrugged" was the one I had read. It was a good book, I just seriously disliked the main character who is supposed to be everyone's hero and "life-changing" character. How defective does that make me?
I have read "Smilla's Sense of Snow" and it made me want to visit Copenhagen like nothing else. I have to say though, I enjoyed the movie more because I love Gabriel Byrne. He looks so fine in it. If I ever re-read it it's going to be in July. I was freezing the whole time I was reading it!
LOVED "Snow Flower". Yet again, both you and Mary were right.
Hi! Thanks for the note - yes Maurice Sendak is one of my favorite authors/artists. Gail Godwin is southern writer that explores personal relationships in her many novels. She has a website http://www.gailgodwin.com/
Bless your heart. Such a lovely comment you left. :)
It's Mary's mom! YAY! Recommender of some amazing books...Kate
