I like fantasy best, things with a little humour, a little thought, and a little off the beaten Tolkein path. I've read some cyberpunk/sci-fi and enjoy it, but it's not what I tend to pick up. I like to read classics--those books you read in classes and that "every cultured person should have read." I'm trying to read as many classics as I can, although sometimes I don't like them. Like Frankenstein. Ugh. My favourite (fantasy) authors (I'll just list the adult authors and not the YAs for now) are currently Robin McKinley, Steven Brust, Robert Asprin, John Moore, and Neil Gaiman. So-called favourites because right now I'll read anything they've written. « less
