Would you mind if I friended your daughter? (I won't be offended.) I read a lot of horse stories growing up. Just thought I might recommend a few to her.
That's fantastic! My sons Adam and Jon are both bookworms as well. Jon had to be tricked into learning to read, but now reads as much or more than I do. He's on Shelfari, but not on my friends list... he should be. He recommends books to me all the time and occasionally takes recommendations from me IF I read him an appealing passage. There's a good Currier and Ives Christmas book of short stories on my "already read that" shelf. I passed it on to a coworker to read with her daughter. A very sweet book...
Did you ever watch the Hallmark Hall of Fame productions Sarah Plain and Tall and the sequel, Skylark? I love, Love, LOVE Christopher Walken! This is one of those rare instances in which the movie is as good as the book. I purchased both of these for the geriatric psych unit where I used to work. They were very popular with the patients and was shown about once a month (average LOS was three weeks). I read the book as a child, and several times as a mother. An excellent little read!
