Joylene was born in Manitoba, grew up in Haney, and raised her sons in Pr. George, BC. She and her husband built a cottage on Cluculz Lake in 1992. The jury is out whether they'll retire there or not. Canada is a beautiful place & they could end up anywhere. Which is good because life should be an adventure. Joylene is the author of Dead Witness.

A tender love story with a paranormal twist.

This is a top-notch read. Strong writing, great descriptions, with clean prose. Ms. Gerritsen grabbed my attention on page one and wouldn't let up. There's a serial killer copying a dead man's MO. He's savagely removing the uterus from young women who were victims of rape. Detective Moore, a soft-spoken cop, and his side-kick, the rough & tough Jane Rizzoli are on the hunt for this vicious copy-cat killer. Dr. Catherine Cordell is his only living victim, but self-preservation has put her memory of the attack of hold. What takes place next is a gripping, spine-chilling hunt as provoking and disturbing as Clarice Sterling's hunt for Buffalo Bill.

Warning: this is not a book for the faint of heart. The details depicted will churn your blood into mud. This story is beyond scary.

I read this years ago & yet I can still remember it clearly. A Nazi is seen in present day & survivals of the holocaust start dying. Intense book. Great opening.

I wrote Dead Witness over a period of 4 years. I started in 1991. I'm proud to have my name on it today. It's a good strong story about a noble woman. If I never published another book, I can live with myself.

I found this to be one of the most intense reads ever. Dark, haunting. Much better than any of his earlier works.

Very dark, frightening story of a serial killer forcing a journalist student to write his bio. The story is intense.

I actually read it when I was at SFU, but I'd read it again.

Very exciting, entertaining book. If you haven't read it yet, you must live on another planet.
