More exciting news at the Suspense & Thrillers Group…as you might already know that Keith Katsikas, author of “2060: The Newton Prophecies” will be leading a discussion on his book. We don’t have a date set up yet, but will in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, Amanda Stevens, author of THE DOLLMAKER, has also agreed to lead the discussion for May’s Group Read, which is THE DOLLMAKER. I’m really excited as this is something new and might become a new trend with our group discussions. If you’ve already read the book, come join us. If not, see if you can grab a copy. There’s still time as the discussion won’t begin until the first week of May.

Hi Bonnie! Most of the Wilbur Smith books on my shelf are historical novels based in South Africa. They follow two different families, the Courtneys and the Ballantynes pretty much from when the first Europeans arrived, through the slave trade, the Boer Wars, the Zulu wars, Apartheid up to modern times. I don't know if you are interested in this type of historical novel, but they are very exciting. The first Courtney novel is When the Lion Feeds and the first Ballantyne novel is Flight of the Falcon or you could start with one of his novels about pirates such as Birds of Prey. All are great books. Hope this helps you.

Ok, I have no idea what the heck is goin on, but do me a favor, remove me as a friend, and then request my friendship again. When I go to the invite friends section of the group your icon/name isn't appearing even though we are technically friends. So try removing me and then re adding me and we'll see if that works. somtimes this site glitches...it gets a tiny bit annoying. LoL

    Hey there Bonnie =),
Thanks a lot for welcoming me, I love Torey Hyden books, they just amaze me, how can little children have so much resilience in them and yes they are all true stories and conditions that she had to treat. The stories I won’t say sad but I would say an remarkable experiences, most of the times I don’t want the book to finish, and the part that I like the most is at the end of her books or on her website she keeps tracks of her characters and tells you what happens later in their lives. I started with Ghost girl so I totally recommend that you start with that too! =)

I like both Robert Crais and Harlan Coben alot. I met both of them at a book fair and they both have an excellant sense of humor! I have read most of Coben's Myron series and liked it, but I also love his stand alones. The Woods is my all time favorite. As for Robert Crais, most of his books are a series based around private dective Elvis Cole and his partner/sidekick Joe Pike who is slightly "off" which makes him a really good character IMHO. The Watchman is a Joe Pike novel (his first one), so you might want to start with one of the earlier Elvis Cole novels. Maybe LA Requiem and then work forward. The older novels are still good, but the newer ones are more action packed. Here is his web site for his list of books in order: http://www.robertcrais.com/novels.htm
His stand alone novel are The Two Minute Rule, Hostage and Demolition Angel. I wasen't overly fond of Hostage. Hope this helps!
