Who am I?

Every day in every way I embrace feminism more deeply.

I read prolifically and I enjoy a wide variety of genres and subjects.

Most recently I was blown away by Twyla Tharp's book The Creative Habit. There are many great quotes from the book. This one speaks to me: " …I can’t say enough about the connection between body and mind; when you stimulate your body, your brain comes alive in ways you can’t simulate in a sedentary position. The brain is an organ, tied integrally to all the other systems in the body, and it’s affected by blood flow, neural transmission, all the processes you undergo when you put your body through its paces."


I write poetry & prose, as yet, unpublished.
Here is a recent poem I wrote:

Illusion

I entertain the illusion that my life has purpose
I reject the illusion that existence is meaningless
I allow the illusion that kindness is in everyone
I disavow the illusion that no one can be trusted
I uphold the illusion that joy is abundant
I abhor the illusion that sorrow is inevitable
I believe the illusion that justice is for all
I disbelieve the illusion that life is not fair

Everything is illusion
Illusion is everything
I love the illusion of choice
I choose the illusion of love

I am a novice weaver.

I like sweating in the suana or swimming in the pool. I love being around the water and under the skies.

I am happiest when I am with my daughters or my grandchildren.
