I'm good. I seem to have a form of Summer in Seattle ADD. Can't seem to focus on anything. So I haven't been on Shelfari much or reading. Just wandering around the city gawking at all the cranes. Can't believe the amount of building going on. Don't they know we're in a recession?

My husband is having a torn meniscus repaired on Friday and will be holed up for a week or so. I expect to catch up with Shelfari and other pursuits while I wait for his next request.

    Thanks for noticing my absence.

We spent a couple of days in San Francisco and enjoyed just fog. then we drove up to our friend who lives in a Sacramento suburb. When we got up that morning and left her A/C'd house, we walked outdoors and were slammed with smoky air. It was like her neighbors were burning their brush. September is the wildfire month and it's only July. California could be in for a long, hot summer - and not the good kind. After six months of volcanic crappy air in Seattle and wildfire air in California, we're glad to be breathing clean air in Seattle.

Judy - I notice that you've read some Joanne Harris novels. Have you read her latest, 'The girl with no shadow' yet? It is a sequel to 'Chocolate' and is delightfully fun and whimsical. I also really like the 'Five quarters of an orange.' It was very different, but equally well done.

    Hey Judy,
Friend you have been on my mind! I have not had the access online I'm used to. I joined a gym. And guess what? Exercising makes me feel better. The energy and creativity is flowing. I feel full and ripe for some writing. Will tell you more later. Peace. ~zawadi

It's such a shame that good artists were such lousy human beings. I think of Picasso.

I see you are in a Klimt phase. I saw some of his work many yars ago in Vienna, but I know very little about him. His work is so exotic and erotic.

I hear you. I think we are heard though our audience will not acknowledge us. And there are more times when we're not. Nonetheless, I believe in speaking out. Someone's gotta do it. Be well. ~zawadi

Why, Judy, honestly? It is difficult to go there whether it is family or casual acquaintance. Will it be a while before you talk with family or in our group? How are you? I'm going to my niece's graduation. Will write at length when I get home. Peace. ~z
