  toni, I have 2 books I think you would enjoy. Peiony in Love by lisa see. It is totally differently from Snow Flower but the prose is just as beautiful. The second is "Light on Snow" by Anita Sheve. It's by far she best.

  My daughter just finished "Cry, the Beloved County". She was just as moved as I. As an English major she could not believe it was never on any of her list for discussion. Thanks for bringing it to the fore ground of my mind again. Hope you and your daughter are well and adjusting to your new life. S

  Hi Toni,
  I noticed you liked a lot of books I liked. I would strongly recommend adding A Thousand Splendid Suns to your list. As much as I loved The Kite Runner, this book about the women of Afghan affected me more. It is one of the most beautifully written stories I have ever read. It stills haunts me.
