I'm a writer, author of Mozart's Wife, Hand-me-Down Bride & Independent Heart. I'm also a grandma, gardener and cat mommy. I write in several historical periods, romantic historicals with a gritty realistic edge. (Love the research!)

Well, I've got to love it because I wrote it.

A beautiful young woman, Stevie, estranged from her family, moves to a Florida Big City and manages a bookstore. She hopes to save money for college because her family has cut her off. However, bad things are happening in the city, things that appear to be "vampire" attacks. When Stevie meets Galen, handsome stranger with an old fashioned, almost courtly manner about him, she quickly falls in love. This young woman has no notion of the terrors and adventures in which she is about to be involved, as Galen attempts to cross the boundary between undead and human.

A romance with a Regency tone woven around the Dutch and their particular ways, still practiced during the late 18th Century in the Hudson Valley of New York. The Revolutionary War sits in the middle of the story and the hero and heroine can't avoid running straight into it. A terrifying journey to Albany from NYC takes them through the heart of the conflagration.

Definitely a must have for the Ricardian reader. Well and clearly written, and for someone with a long time interest in the topic, I found it illuminating and full of interesting details.

Afraid I can't think clearly on the subject. It's all grist to the mill.

Oh, lord, another of my obsessions--Rupert--who was so good looking there is no current movie star who could play him. He led a very odd life filled with warrior's adventures and a loneliness he seems to have chosen. He had a fascinating family--from whom the current "English" royals are descended. This is a marvelous story--Margaret Irwin is an engaging writer, even in her rather old-fashioned style, her stories pack a tremendous punch.

Very interesting and anecdotal. Like sitting in a bar with a great story teller in a pith helmet and tropical whites.
