Wow, there are so many. Currently my favorite series is the Twilight saga (Twilight/New Moon/Eclipse/Breaking Dawn) by Stephenie Meyer. I also enjoyed the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman. I heart that A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly was very good, but I haven't actually read it. I'm also currently reading Roma by Stephen Saylor; it's not technically YA but it's fine for my age group. It's a fascinating history of Rome in novel form, with each chapter like it's own short story chronicling on part of Rome's history, from the earliest salt traders, through Romulus and Remus and Hannibal, all the way to Julius Caesar. It's very good and I like it a lot.
