Leola,Since signing on as a friend with you I have not gotten a response back from my note to you. Do you respond back to your friends via this page or was I doing something wrong asking you to contact me?
Hi Leola,We have similarities in our book tastes. Please go to: outskirtspress.com/astepoffaithand check out my first book. It is an uplifting account of a persons two years at a Bible school in the frozen tundra of Upstate New York replete with various personalities and adventures encountered there.Let me know if you liked it, and maybe write a review on shelfari.Your bibliophile friend from Maryland, Charles

Congratulations on having your first book published! I'll check it out on amazon some time. Just got back from a trip, hence the delayed response. How's your book doing? Great, I hope! Keep in touch!

Hi LeolaS! I started reading your book "Diary of a Mad Fat Woman" last night and love it! I can relate to the lead character so much either from personal experience or because my friends have gone through similar experiences. I think your book would make an excellent selection for a book club to discuss. There are so many elements that many people will be able to relate to.

I can never remember how to answer my messages, since I can't ever FIND the darn things! LOL Let's see . . . to answer your questions, McCann's Manor is the first in The Actor's Guild Paranormal Mystery Series. Second of the Series, The Bakery Murders, is out in eBook format and scheduled to be released in print the first week of April. As to how I got published, I just submitted until someone finally took my submission! LOL Actually, the publisher is new and started out as strictly an online eBook publisher. Since they were new and seeking stories, I probably got in a little easier than I might have elsewhere. Mystic Moon Press is primarily a POD (publish on demand) outfit, which is another thing that makes it easier for them AND me... no out of pocket expense for either of us!Promotion-wise, I have been using the Internet, setting up pages on MySpace, Friendster and other places where you can set up for free, which is a very good price for me! I plan to do flyers, press releases, schedule book signings at the local libraries, etc., as soon as the books get into the "loop". My editor says when they get in the system, Barnes and Noble online will carry them. Then the local Borders will order some and that's when I will be set to go on the book signings, etc. All that takes a while, but Amazon already has the two ebooks, so things are progressing.I also have two websites; one for my beaded jewelry designs (www.beadedlegends.com/), where I also have a couple of pages devoted to the books; and one just for the books (www.theactorsguildseries.com/).Lots of luck to you in your quest!Charlotte

Hi Leola - Thanks so much for your kinds words. I have been very blessed with so many published books, both fiction and non-fiction, and they are all published by a traditional publisher. Besides the 40 fiction sales, I have 23 worship resource books -- of programs and short plays and skits -- as well as the book for Writers Digest. I will write my comments to you privately about self-publishing -although I've never done it, I've talked to so many who have.Wishing you blessings with your presentation at Wayne County Community College. By the way, I'll be teaching Writing Fiction in Grand Rapids in June for American Christian Writers. You can check out more inforamtion on my website at www.gailmartin.com Gail
I just ordered your book. Just from reading the description I know I can relate to the leading character. I can't wait to read it.
