This story was a little slow and too PG, but it was well writen and the suspense kept me ready. A girl in love with a vampire....Not much happens in the book, I dought I'll read the sequel.

Finished it in 3 days. I liked it, it was a good story. I've always liked stories that took place during the depression. I'm fascinated by the struggle for survival. Imagine, your parents both just die tragically, your house and all your possessions are taken by the bank, and you have no family or friends to take you in. What do you do with nothing but the clothes on your back....What a challange. I love it. I don't know if I would jump a train a go off and join the circus though.....

Really enjoyed reading this one. "And so, Ron, in short, get out of Salton City and hit the Road. I hope that the next time I see you, you will be a new man with a vast array of new adventures and experiences behind you. Just get out and do it. Just get out and do it. You will be very glad that you did." A quote I liked from the a letter the protagonist wrote a friend he met on the road. At this stage in my life I am a Vagabond, a Rogue, a Tramp, a wonderer, and I haven't looked back. I have a new appreciation for life, and know how fortunate I am. Solitude and self deprivation can be good for the soul. The road keeps me in a constant state of learning, about myself, others, the world, and my environment. But I will not linger here, this is just one stage in my life. I will not be a vagabond for long.

Good book, A little slow paced and heavily descriptive for me but I really liked the ending. It deffinately gripped you. I really liked the part in the book when Robbie was just trying to survive the war. The breif moments and love letters shared between him and Cecilia and her constant belief in him were enough to drive him to survive and get back to her when he should have died on the battle field. Looking forward to seeing the movie.

Good book, a little slow and very depressing at times. It was amazing to me that a family could just segregate themselves in seperate rooms like that, and not talk, hug each other, or anything. It reminded me of when my friend Jason died. Our group of friends got less attached, and lost touch, not completely but we seamed to hang out less with each other after that. It's astonishing to me how tragedy and emotional pain isolates us. The ending disapointed me a little.

Enjoyed learning about these ideas that I already new. The power of positivity and truely believing that things you want in life are already yours is so true. I don't just think about how nice it would be to retire on a yacht in the Bahamas, I know I will. Some of it was a little far fetched though. Believing checks are just going to start showing up in your mailbox. Come on. "You can wish in one had and crap in the other, and see which fills first." Grumpy Old Men.

Liked it of course. Who doesn't like stories about gangsters, and especially ones that mention the great Joe Lewis. Forgetaboutit. Can't wait to see the movie.

Not as good as Choke, but still good. Chuck Palahniuk has brilient imaginativeness.

Interesting book. Recommended to me by the very interesting and very sexy Leah Bucko. I read it in a day and a half. A view through the eyes of a sex addict who chokes on food at high end resturants where everyday rich folk step in and perform the heimlich maneuver on him and save his life. In turn they end up sending him checks on his Birthday and Christmas because they feel sorry for him. He performs this scam over and over. This is his bread and butter. The story of this pathetic guy, his mother, and his friend keeps your attention until the very end and surprises you.
