This might be the time, not sure. The Odyssey is but one book to be semi-conversant in, basic geography, history of Ireland would help along with a knowledge of Shakespeare.. frankly, the book seems like a jumbled mess.I've read "here n there" that a lot of editing was done in various versions of the book. I don't think there's a definitive version.
