At night when sunshine goes away,
And it's too dark for me to play,
I like to come inside, and look
For new friends in a story book.

The voting time is up and the book choosen is Ghulam Bagh by Mirza Athar Baig.
So hurry up get your copies everyone. I am setting date for discussion of book one month from now (that should roughly make it 10th of January). That should be enough time for every one to get the book and read it. So be ready for hearty healthy discussion on Ghulam Bagh next month.
I will initiate a now discussion post labeled Ghulam bagh where can talk about the book and I will send every one reminders well ahead in time.
Happy reading everyone

The deadline for recommending urdu books to read is over and three books have been suggested
1. Ghulam Baagh by Mirza Athar Baig ( suggested by Umair Vahidy)
2. Manchaley ka soda by Ashfaq Ahmad ( suggested by Yamna Rehman K)
3. Dasht e Soos by Jamila Hashmi ( suggested by Farah Akhtar)
Please vote for the book that you want to read in the discussion titled “voting for books”. Voting is open till 7th of December.
I know it has been a long time since I have been on shelfari but life was just so busy lately (I am sure that is how it is with every one)
I have been thinking that for some time “urdu books” have become rather inactive I think that we ought to do something to liven it up. I could not think of anything back than but I have an idea now
I was once a member of another website that had a books lover’s page.
Members would recommend a book and the whole group would go procure a copy. After a certain time which maybe a month or more (depending upon the size of the book) they would all come back and discuss the book as to how they found it , whether they liked it or not , what was lacking etc.
So if you think you it is a good idea we could do something similar too
I will initiate a discussion titled “what books should we read?”
Members are to leave their suggestions till 1st of December 2009
If there is more than one book we will vote for the one we want to read first.
But remember, it is an urdu books group so the suggested titles have to be urdu.
What do think?
Should we do it?
I have noticed that no one has been paying a visit to the “urdu books group” lately. If you can spare some time , I would like you all to go there so that we can make an active and live group of it once more.
I dont know about yu but I enjoyed the discussions we used to have.
