I have a house full of books, and haven't tried to capture them all here in Shelfari. Besides reading, I like music (I'm a singer), cats and renaissance faires.

A clearly written guide to plants that can take over, this book surprised me by featuring several species that are sold in nurseries as decorative as pesky plants. I ended up more often viewing this book as a field guide to weeds than a manual. The first suggestion to eradicate weeds was almost always either yank or smother, so I quickly became less interested in that section. Might make a nice gift (along with a weeding tool) for a person who has bought a house with an unkempt yard and delusions of grandeur.

    Lights Out Tonight

Decent book, but the end needed a bit of help. Seemed like it was all just thrown together, like maybe the author was running out of time and needed to get it done and to the publisher before the deadline hit. Did really tie everything up too well.

James Herriot is leaning up against the Rainbow Bridge, reading this and laughing his ass off. And Gerald Durrell is rounding the corner, determined to discover what the fuss is all about. When a London real estate agent and his lawyer wife decide to move to the country and, unwittingly join the slow food movement, there are struggles, tears, piles of various kinds of manure and bogs of mud, but most of all, raucous laughter.
