By the way, I just finished The Matchmaker of Perigord by Julia Stuart (The Tower, The Zoo, and the Tortoise author) and loved it. You would like that one. And I need someone to read The Discovery of Witches soon so I can discuss it...

Did you ever read another book by Jennifer Donnelly? Just wondering if it's worth it to try some more of her books or not?

Hi Jo! So I'm right in the middle of The Mysterious Benedict Society and am loving it. Had to take a brake with it to finish The Scarlett Pimpernel and now I'm excited to get back to it. The characters are very fun. Sticky is my favorite!

Shanlovesbooks and I were talking about When you reach me, and we decided that I loved it so much more because I haven't read The Time Travelers Wife. You read that one didn't you?

So...what's the deal with The Postmistress and what was the other one? North of Beautiful or something? I've never heard of these books and you didn't wirite a review. 3 stars is rather vague. Should I be interested in these books or not???? Come on. Keep me informed here. You have a lot of extra time on your hands now. Plenty of time to write in depth reviews...

I don't think anything has been decided, but I have a feeling about it. I'm getting started just in case - the first 20 pages were successfully read today!

And the Ladies of the Club - of course!! What other 1100 page book would I be planning out a reading strategy for? I'm NOT subbing for Bryson Wednesday - I'm playing racquetball! I'm subbing for her on the 18th so we're playing on the 17th - work for you?

I didn't know you read Sarah's Key. I didn't recommend it to you, did I? I had a lot of issues with that one. Talk about a main character that had a rough life and just couldn't get over it, even when good things came her way. I think I just compared her too much with the characters in The Book Thief.

I am interested to see your review of The Boy in Striped Pajamas. I can't seem to get it to come up so I'll just ask you instead. I didn't love it, but it looks like you did...what did you like about it?

So I read Diary of a Wimpy Kid today - it took me about an hour and a half & here I am almost 5 hours later still laughing. I'm even making my non-reader husband read this one. I think it's probably funnier when you're an adult than when you're a kid!

I haven't started Hunger Games yet, but from what I hear it's wonderful & very hard to put down. I was asked to tell you THANKS for the recommendation!

So...you gave "Here Be Dragons" and "Ella Minnow Pea" the same rating? Really????? Surely that was an oversight. Let me help you - "Ella Minnow Pea"...5 Stars, "Here Be Dragons"...2 Stars. There. I feel better now. Don't you?

Thanks! I hope to have some time to read real soon. With the kids home from school we are a little busy. I will have to check out your books better when I have time. Happy New Year!
