"Persepolis" was actually the first graphic novel that I ever read. I guess I fellI in love with the format while reading it. I think both volumes are really well-written and drawn, and the author's story is fascinating. It was eye-opening to me as well, because the history and culture of the Middle East was never mentioned in school when I was growing up. I've heard very good things about "Reading Lolita in Tehran" as well, one of these days I will get around to reading it!
