Hi i am unsure what to say about myself as its not a subject i like talking about much.
I will just say that if you scroll through my shelves on Shelfari you might find you have something in common with me as i don't stick to one genre of books and read voraciously on many subjects.
Hope you like what you read.
Take care. more »

Hey, thanks for the recommendation! I really want to read that book, but I can't find it here in Brazil :(
The libraries don't have it and it's too expensive to buy... It's on my "to read" list now =D

Thank you, I read most of Tamora Pierce's Tortall books excluding, the trickster's series and the newer bloodhound. I REALLY enjoyed those books and I very much appreciate you giving me the order of the series =). I have three books from the circle of magic and the first book to the circle opens, so I'll start on them soon.

    Again, thank you =).

A shame you say that. I was quite looking forward to "White Tiger." I think I'll still give it a shot.

They should just redo it. I agree, I'd probably have enjoyed it more if I hadn't already read it.

Too many!! Hmm. A few include Ursula LeGuin, Anne McCaffrey, and Michael Ende. I do like Pierce quite a lot and I've enjoyed what I've read of Paolini so far. Couldn't stand the movie, though.

Hello Ria and thank you so much for sending this kind note. And, yes, I did notice that many of the books you posted are also ones I've enjoyed. "Children of Hurin" was excellent -- a dark and delightful mythic tale. And thank you for the warm words about Luthiel's Song. I'm honored you found it interesting and if you ever do read it please send along a note with your thoughts. I'd love to hear your opinion.

    Kindest regards to you!

    HI RIA,
HOW'S IT GOING? SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH SOMEONE'S EMAIL STILL SO I'M
WRITING THIS HOPING YOU'LL GET IT. HOW ARE YOU DOING ANYWAY? I'M
DOING GREAT AS ALWAYS WENT BOWLING YESTERDAY DIDN'T DO SO WELL
WTIH MY FRIEND BUT BY MYSELF LATER IN THE AFTERNOON I BOWLED A 68
AND 68 ALSO THAT WAS TWO DIFFERENT TIMES FOR A 68. I DON'T HAVE
MUCH MONEY LEFT FOR THIS MONTH BUT MY MOM SAID I COULD EARN SOME
FROM HER AS I CALLED MY OTHER FRIEND STEVE AND HE SAID WE MIGHT
BE ABLE TO DO SOMETHING NEXT WED. SO I'LL WANT SOME MONEY FOR THAT.
I'M STILL THINKING I'D LIKE TO WORK SINCE I'M DOING SO WELL WITH
EVERYTHING THE CANNERY I USED TO WORK AT IS NOW A 'RAIN SWEET'
COMPANY CANNERY AND THEY DO BERRIES AND ONIONS. MANY YEARS AGO
I TRIED WORKING THERE ONCE BUT I WAS ALLERGIC TO ONIONS, BUT
THEY ALSO HAVE BERRIES AND I WORKED IN BERRIES AT THE CANNERY
IN WOODBURN FOR A SEASON. MY COLITIS IS DOING SO WELL IT'S LIKE
I DON'T EVEN HAVE IT IN FACT I'M TRYING TO GET OFF ONE OR EVEN
BOTH OF THE MEDS I TAKE FOR IT. I'LL BE OFF THE PREDNISONE FIRST
AND THEN AFTER AWHILE I'LL TRY AND SEE IF I CAN GET OFF THE AZATHIOPRINE I TRIED THAT ONCE BEFORE AND IT DIDN'T WORK, BUT
I'VE NOT BEEN DOING AS WELL AS I AM NOW. I STARTED READING
'JOHN ADAMS' BY DAVID MCCULLOUGH ABOUT ONE OF OUR EARLIEST PRESIDENTS, THERE'S A MULTIPLE-PART MINISERIES OF IT ON HBO
THIS MONTH. I TRIED MESSING WITH MY MP3 PLAYER AND I JUST CAN'T
SEEM TO BE ABLE TO PUT ANY MORE SONGS ON IT FOR THE TIME BEING
SO I WILL JUST LISTEN TO THEONES THAT ARE ALREADY ON THERE AND
MOSTLY JUST LISTEN TO MY HI FI IN MY ROOM... DEF LEPPARD AND
ALL THE OTHER COOL BANDS SOUND GREAT ON THERE ESPECIALLY THE RADIO
SINCE I MOVED IT TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION IN MY ROOM. HOW'S THE

    Hi Ria,
How's it going? I'm doing fine and hope you all are the same. I
figured out that some chocolate ice cream I was eating was bothering
my colitis as it was pretty rich that sucks I'll just stick to
some hard candy once in awhile. I found my MP3 player and have
been listening to it a lot lately, you'll never guess where it was
it was safely in the pocket of a sweat jacket that I'd had hanging
in a closet since before Christmas mom felt something heavy in there
and pulled it out when she was looking through things and sure
enough there it was. It still works good. The one I have is an
RCA and it doesn't charge up on the computer, rather it runs
on a AAA battery and the battery gives about 15 hours of life with
each batter. It's nothing fancy just a 1 GB flash player. I'd
like to upgrade to a 4 GB or 8 GB IPOD. Yesterday I had a good
time, I went out with my friend Steve, the guy I used to know from
the cannery days. We went to Walery's pizza in West Salem where
I had some pepperoni and Hawaiian pizza, it was awesome. I had
a LITTLE pizza again tonight, we had Papa murphy's take and bake
five-meat stuffed crust pizza, man that was good too. It's basically two separate pizzas baked in together. They are celebrating the fact that Papa Murphy's was chosen America's
favorite pizza chain. Some of the other national ones are Pizza
    Hut, Domino's and Papa John's. I don't like Domino's, the food
is good but they've screwed up my order each time I ordered from
them. I might try them again and tell them to get it right
or I must have a hundred friends that like pizza and I wouldn't
suggest to them getting Domino's. Just a joke. So what have
you been doing anything nice? I got a surprising email from
the husband of my email pal from Cirencester, England, it seems
she's gone and broken her arm and won't be able to write for quite
some time. I'll be patient and hope she gets better, because
she is one of the very first email pals I ever had and also the
longest lasting of all the ones I write to now, I was writing
to her since before the Sept. 11 attacks. so that's a long time.
Anyway I also went to the used bookstore yesterday with my friend
and got some books "Everville" by Clive Barker(in hardcover) and
also 2 books by Robert A. Heinlein and one each by Douglas Clegg
and Dean Koontz. He bought "Barlow's Guide To Extraterrestrials"
and a Dean Koontz one. He's still reading the last Harry Potter
one is what he told me. I have the "Barlow" book myself it is
great because all the aliens in it are from actual science fiction
novels and it makes me kind of want to read them. Well, guess
that's enough chatting for now so I'll close, take care and
hope to hear from you soon,

    Hi Ria,
How's it going? I'm doing fine here. I found out the other day that
I probably could get a tax rebate from the president, as long as
I have a certain amount of income and I do with my social security
I could get the minimum amount which would be nice, I think I'd
invest in a Sony home theater system. Don't think I'd like an IPOD,
it would be a pain to have to plug it into the computer all the
time to charge up and all that, prefer Hi Fi type stereo music
myself. And I like over-the-ear headphones and not earbuds.
I'm home alone now, Mom and my sister have gone to a craft store
in Keizer, Oregon)the town right next to Salem) to get a battery
kit for a clock my grandmother has, as mom and mom's aunt are
going to see grandma in the morning, she wants some kind of sandwich
or something for lunch. My dad said if I didn't order a pizza
we'll have papa murphy's five-meat stuffed crust pizza, which
is basically a double decker pizza. Papa Murphy's is a national
chain that makes pizza and then you take it home and bake it in
your own oven. I didn't go bowling today, didn't feel up to it
maybe not used to the time change yet, we switched time zones so
it will be much later in the evening, maybe I'll go for a walk
some nice evening after supper. Oh another place to get a good
home theater system is a chain of local stores called Video Only,
and their prices are even cheaper than the big-box electronic stores. Onto other things, my colitis is doing so well now it
feels like I don't even have it, am working my way off one of the
2 medicines I take for it one is a steroid called "Prednisone"
that has a lot of side effects, am down to 3 mgs and next week
can take 2 and then in 2 more weeks take one and in another 2
weeks try and stop it. That will really decrease my blood sugars
as the prednisone is what really makes me diabetic, when I don't
take it sometimes I don't have to take a diabetes pill. And if all
goes well I might even be able to try to stop the second medicine
I take for my colitis as well. Anyway wish me luck on getting
off the medicine. My weight's going down again, for a week or
two I gained back some, but with being careful with my diet
it has gone down some more. Well, guess that's all for now, take
care and hope to hear from you soon,

    Hi Ria,
What's happening? I'm glad Jareth is better. Hey I've been losing some
weight I've been laying off the dang soda pop only having it when I go
out to eat somewhere that's the ticket I think. And not eating in the
middle of the night. I'll be able to tell my primary care guy that I've
been trying with my weight again and he'll like that. I'm also supposed
to exercize but it's hard to get going. I'm still enjoying "the Witch of
Portobello" by Coelho I'm past page 125. I rearranged my stereo stuff
I get better reception on my Panasonic one now but my best one for radio
is the Sony boombox actually, it only cost me $60.00 at Best Buy some years
ago. I'm still thinking i'd like an IPOD or MP3 player maybe I'll save
some money for a month or two, Sony has a new Walkman one that might be
good? So what are u reading now? Have you been to any more concerts or
the theater? Well, I guess I'll close for now, take care and hope to hear
    from you soon,

    Hi Ria,

How's it going? Hope Jareth is doing better. I was glad to hear from
you. The flu's going around there's a lady that does a local music show
for the portland oregon area on KUFO-FM radio and she was out for two
weeks with the flu and temperature and everything. I'm well over my illness,
i think it was just the colitis as mom said the symptom's were just about
the same as I was when I was in the hospital. But they didn't get as bad
this time. I only had a slight fever, it wasn't even a whole point higher.
Sounds like you had a good time with Richard, that's nice. When I had
my illness I had no trouble with the colitis, just cramps and throwing
up, but sometimes those are symptoms of colitis. Anyway I'm well into
reading "The Witch Of Portobello" by Paulo Coelho now, it's very different
from my usual reading but I still like it. I've got the bio of John
Adams, one of our early presidents, since it'll be on HBO soon. Maybe this
summer we can get the house rewired for digital cable, there was a very
knowledgeable cable tech that helped my mom with my sister's cable next
door, and he says sometimes the digital boxes don't work well with the older
wiring. Well, guess that's all the latest, write soon,
