Karen P

I am a pastors wife. We have been in the ministry for 28 years. We have
3 children and will soon be empty nesters. My husband and I love to
read. Most all of the books I read are ministry related. I love the lively
discussions in the groups I am a part of and love to meet new friends.
Thanks Dinah for inviting me to join Shelfari.

I will try to check out the High Call and Priviledge groups. I don't have a lot of time to spend on the site each day, so it can be challenging juggling too many group discussions!

Thank you so much! I used to be a harpie. Before I was a walking, talking, breathing christian, I was not a nice person. I still don't like looking at old pictures, because I know how I was. I'm a camera hog now, because I see my Father working on and in me and I love who I am. I look forward to seeing what else God is going to do.

Hi Karen! I am happy to accept your friend request. It sounds like we have a lot in common...My husband and I are not pastors, but I am a PK. We have been married for 28 years and have 2 adult daughters - the youngest is a sophomore in college this year, so we are facing the empty nest as well.

    Blessings!

You bet it is hard to do! Right now, I am in the phase where I am beginning to get in touch with another side of my self and the "be still" that God speaks about seems to point to getting in touch with my inner self.

Thats awesome! Everyone in my family plays piano but my dad.Andmy sister and I play in band at school so you could say that my family is quite musical, too.

I have already been at school for three weeks teaching the new teachers how to teach! I need to get in my classroom though and get it ready. It looks terrible.

I have read it and found it very seventies-ish. I guess it would be. However, it shouldn't take more than half an hour to read it, so if you hate it, it won't have killed much time.

"The Great Divorce" is an image of the life-after - "heaven" and "hell". It presents a variety of people - how they were "good" and "bad" during their physical life and how they fared in the life-after. There is such a wealth of wisdom in this book. I've read it 4 times already.

Your insights are so helpful. Yes, that image of Moses and the need to keep one's composure... so appropriate, indeed. I always find strength in the Scriptural passage: all things work for the good of those who love God... ALL THINGS...

Thanks for inviting me as a friend! I've also read C.S. Lewis' "The Screwtape Letters". Have you read his "The Great Divorce" book? A very insightful read!

I bet they are not as nice as the Pelham library! Those people love me. Every time I go, I owe them lots of money. I always lose that due date card----

I'm sorry. I thought you were talking about the group you are administrator of. You will have to contact the administrator of the group and ask her to remove it. Don't worry about it. Everyone will know what has happened. Doylene
