It is not politically based, my request. I get many friend request and now have decided that friendships need to develop. Just having a long list of avatars of people who request friends is not what I want. I have read many books about Afghanistan and Pakistan. I think there are good people in those countries but politics color every country. This is not a political group. There are groups where you can take your concerns but not this group (1001 books), but you are welcome to create a list from the book and/or participate in the group reads and discussion. If you want a friendship with me, there needs to be a foundation for friendship.

I received your request for friendship but I feel it is more self promotion than friendship. We have no books in common when I check your shelf. Could you give me more information on the basis behind your request. I am very willing to dialogue with anyone. The list of people requesting friendship grows very long without any evidence of friendship. Hope this makes sense. k

    Mr. Omer K. ,
I believe you didn't have a time to read my questions quite well !!!???
    1. Witch country hosted more afghan refugees than Pakistan?
ANSWER IS:(Iran 10,398,000 refugees / USA so far more than 1,774,000 refugees / and EU so far more than 1,000,000 refugees, Pakistan 2,262,000 refugees based year ending 2008 ), at this moment more refugees crossing Iranian border asking for help than Pakistan border, due to war.
    2. How may countries hosted afghan refugees?
ANSWER: like you said, (Iran, Pakistan, USA, EU)
    3. Witch country helped the most financially, humanitarianism, in evey angles, without asking SUPER POWERS, UNITED NATION, UNICEF, Etc.. PLEASE FACTS.
    ANSWER: (Iran, USA, and EU)

This is your respond to my questions:

anwsers to your queries are as following

1 Pakistan hosted almost 3.5 miliion afghans when the afghanistan was facing civil war and taliban were on rise.
    2. Many countries has hosted afghan refugees like Iran, UAE, USA, Europe, Canada etc

    3. Other than Pakistan and Iran who were the front lone states in hosting afgan refugees it was USA who helped afghans till 1988 but afterwards USA was no more in scene and civil war erupted in nineties which saw more humanitarain crisis.

True, indeed, I'd opened up a blog some months ago..my main porpose was to put together different points of view from different parts of the world. I called it Lux Mundi, but, unfortunately, i wasn't able to gather those people to help me on writing daily articles to the blog, moreover, in that time i didn't have free time to manage the blog...if u like, we can try anything together, just let me know if u are available.

Good morning dear Sir "Omer K."
Hope you have a great year, and my sincere congradulation on your second book.
Since you're a great scholar, and your two books are based on facts not fiction, you wrote code on code ""Pakistan hosted millions of afghan refugees"" are you trying to tell me no other country helped afghan refugees? Just Pakistan? Are you sure? Or because you're living in Pakistan?
I have a few questions to ask you dear sir, please let me know, and my questions are:
    1. Witch country hosted more afghan refugees than Pakistan?
    2. How may countries hosted afghan refugees?
    3. Witch country helped the most financially, humanitarianism, in evey angles, without asking SUPER POWERS, UNITED NATION, UNICEF, Etc.. PLEASE FACTS.
    I dearly appreciate your time.

I am married and have lovely daughter. I am author of "Afghanistan A Volatile Country". In 1980s i closely watched the afghan resistance against Soviet occupation of afghanistan. This is a country which is never ruled by any foreign force. British also failed to break their defense line. This country has never been ruled by foreign occupiers. . I am an insider and not like those journalists who come and stay for some days and go back and write book with specific picture in their mind and they do not know what is happening in the streets and what pain a common man is going through. I have explained the Pakistan role in detail from which you can understand the differences both countries had. My next book is on Indus valley.
A sizable portion of royality of this book will go to charities to rebuild this war torn country. « less

Welcome to 1001 books. You can keep track of the books you have read from the book, 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die here and join in the discussions on the books we are reading for the month (from the book) or you can argue the merits of the list as some enjoy doing. We hope you will want to join in our discussions. The current books are at the top of the list for that month. If there is any way I or Mossflower can answer your questions about the group or about Shelfari, let us know.
If you don’t own the book the list can be found http://www.listology.com/content_show.cfm?content_id=22845. A downloadable list of the second edition is available at http://johnandsheena.co.uk/books/?page_id=160.
