While I was in college, I had other things that consumed my time. Boyfriend, classes, hiking up 14,000 ft. mountains, that kind of thing. *laugh* So, reading kinda got pushed to the wayside. It took me a long time to recover. But now? I can't get enough of it! Though currently, my real life is interrupting my reading time. But hopefully I'll have more time soon.Yea, most recently I've been reading a lot of young adult fiction. I think it is because they are easy. My life is complicated right now, so it is difficult to really delve into good writing.I've heard great things about a lot of the books you mentioned. I should give them a try. We'll see how the rest of this year pans out!Glad to meet someone else who has read the genius that is Raw Shark Texts. I named my beta Ludovician because of that book. *laugh*
Hi, Angela--"On Chesil Beach" wasn't my favorite McEwan. "Atonement" remains his best for me thus far. I also liked "Saturday," though not as much. Take care, Leslie
Hi, Angela--You're very welcome. It looks as though you have a bunch of nice ones to choose from. Just curious, if you want to share--what book did you just finish reading?
I know, isn't it maddening??? I'm ready to storm Shelfari HQ.
Alas, that doesn't work. I've tried and tried. I'm at the breaking point with 20 of these questions a day.
I haven't finished reading Nim Chimpsky (although I read the original Terrace book when I first started my research). It's in my "read" shelf only because I thought I was adding to to my "currently reading" area. I'm about 2/3 of the way through, and, yes, I am enjoying it.
