I read Guernsey. You won't believe my thoughts on it. You can read my review, but in advance, please don't be offended that I found it to be one of the worst books I have ever read. It's right up there with Austenland, although for entirely different reasons. I am so sorry! At least we agree on Jane Austen, and by the way, when are you going to come visit me and watch some wholesome BBC? I found a killer microwave popcorn: marshmallow corn. Sounds weird and gross, but trust me, it is fantastic. Miss you!

I've been avoiding the Guernsey ... because every one I know has loved it. It's one of those weird things about me. I didn't read Harry Potter until all of the books were released, and I just barely read the Twilight Series last month. But since you have given me a personal recommendation, and since I value your opinion so highly, I'll move it up the list. Thanks for the suggestion!

I saw you have Percy Jackson on your "to read" list. I'm reading the first book with Nicole right now, and it is with much drudgery that I force myself through another chapter (Nicole likes it better than I do, that's why we're still reading it). Unless you're dead set on it, or just want to find out for yourself, I wouldn't recommend this book. I was very disappointed. I kept getting this nagging thought that Riordan was trying to pull off a Harry Potter repeat, and it is no match, in my opinion. I still might rent the movie, though. It's got to be better than the book!

How was The Alchemist? My book club just chose that as one of the books we'll be reading this next year. I've heard a lot of people talking about the book, but am still not sure what it's actually about. It's the one that the Shoreline book club just read, right?
