I am pretty involved with flickr & librarything at the moment. My dream is to make a complete inventory of all my books. (How likely is that?) And I would like to have a life away from the computer too! Balance in all things - tough when you're a touch obsessive about photos and books. I imported my books from librarything to here but it only accepted 2/3's of my books! Hey now. 300 books left behind is not good!
[Edit (about 2 yrs later) 11/2009]. Imported my books again from LT and of 2000 editions, it couldn't deal with 350 so the percentages are improving. The Shelfari pro, it's free. The con, you get what you pay for. I still don't feel like updating 350 books I've already processed once. And I've done top-quality cover scans that just aren't coming thru here. Irksome since I like the proper edition covers. But since some of my friends are here, I'll try again in two years :-)
Ooops. I have a "gifted out collection" on LT that came thru here. Books I gave away and who I gave them to. I'll have to weed them out of here.
I read mostly soft sci-fi and fantasy, some history, some trashy romances. How's that for honest?
But I love ART! So I collect beautifully illustrated and well-written Children's Picture Books. And ART books! Pre-Raphaelite Art. Dutch Masters. Mannerism/Surrealism. Golden Age Illustration. Angels, Fae, Mermaids, Fantasy & Mythology in Art.
