Recently returned from the trip of a lifetime....three weeks in China! What an adventure!
I am a retired school librarian and I love to read. My preference is non-fiction and interests include World War II, the Holocaust, China, Russia, Japan, Physicians, Travel, Memoirs, Biography and Autobiography, POWs, and Okinawa. I'm an Army Brat and lived in Okinawa right after the war, in Yokohama, Japan during the occupation and in Orleans, France 1956-59.
I still love to travel all over the world and have been to more than 30 countries. My house looks like a branch library and I'm always looking for new titles. I hope I live long enough to read all of the books on my wish list. Also read some fiction and collect quotes, mostly about reading, but lots of funny and inspiring ones. My husband and I have been married 45 years and we have two grown sons and five grandchildren.
Photo taken in Japan. I had it displayed in our school library with a lot of other Japanese souvenirs when the kids studied Japan. My sign said, "Mrs. Smith, age 10, Yokohama, Japan, year unknown." Some sweet child crossed out year unknown and wrote in "1898". I still have it!.
Sense of humor well developed as coaches always cut through the library to tell jokes on the way to the gym!
