    hi isabelle,
i thought putting a review discussion on the audio book group would liven it up a bit but there seems to be only me putting reviews on. a bit disappointing for me. with all those members i thought someone would be interested.
if you like the series with a jewess detective you may like to try the rabbi small series by ? killerman. they were on tape when i bought them some time ago. i enjoyed them and learned about the faith from them. they are all crime. george guidall read them. i don't know if you can get them now but they are definitly worth a try.
i have chasing fire on my wishlist. chris, my daughter, has bought the book. she came back from shopping with four nora roberts books! another fan there.

    hi isabelle,
thanks for putting replies on my discussion on audio books to recommend.
will start llistening to the anatomy of ghosts tomorrow and will post a review so you will see what i think.
the elizabeth berg book is currently in a bag waiting to go to the charity shop. oh dear me, i didn't like that one either. wont be buying anymore by that author.
i am becoming a fan of nora roberts books. les has finished the search by her and enjoyed it. its a crime/thiriller. she seems to be able to write diffeent genres really well which is unusual.

I may have another one for you, too! Across the Universe by Beth Revis. It's YA Sci Fi. I've not read it yet but did just purchase it. It's the first in a trilogy. The second book is already out so I imagine book three can't be too far behind. Now that I know your daughter likes my suggestions I'll have to do a better job of working my way through my YA tbr pile so I can pass on any recommendations :-)

Has your daughter or son read The Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan? If not, I highly recommend it....although I've only read the first book (I did think it was excellent).

    Hello
I saw that you read and loved The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I have started reading a book
called Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum. It has a different naration style but the themes and story are similar. I am having trouble putting it down to do other things.
Its worth having a look at in the library or your local book shop.

    Happy Reading

Isabelle, I just noticed that one of today's features on the Shelfari blog is a piece about The Orphan Master's Son! It is short, but very good and makes me extra eager to read the book.

    hi isabelle,
hope you like life, liberty etc., les is now on portable door and i'm waiting to see what he thinks of it.
i have looked up the mammy on amazon here but its only on tape. apparently there is a t.v. series here based on the books but i haven't seen any of them.
currently i am working my way through nora robert's bride quartet and enjoying it. then it will be back on my list on my shelf. they are all bought produced books and elizabeth berg's book is next on my list. i have listened to two by this writer, the first one i didn't like very much and the second was alright so i am hoping this one will be better or maybe not. the synopsis booked good on the other books but the writing didn't live up to expectations. oh well can't win them all. more books for the charity shop.
nearly forgot to ask, did you read the follow up books to portable door? there are mixed reviews on amazon and i wondered if you had what you thought.
    your friend karen.

Isabelle, I just started reading it and so far can't put it down. Very interesting, has a dystopian feel to it.

Hi! Just wanted to give you a heads up that I've just nominated Deafening for the group read in the Historical Fiction Group Reads group. Since I know it's also on your Trim the TBR, I wanted to let you know. Not sure when the voting will start, but... :-) Of course, you may be interested in some of the others books, too, and that's fine. I just wanted to make sure you noticed.

I just posted some thoughts over in the Historical Fiction group--In summary, I thought it was good but not amazing. The plot is fairly predictable, which makes things feel a bit slow, especially towards the end...but there are a few really well-written scenes and the premise was interesting enough to keep me invested in seeing how it all turned out.
