Finished Love Walked in. Did not like it especially. Andy read it too after he had her class at UDel and said he was disappointed with it. I have lots of thoughts about it. She lacks polish and writes the story like a screen play. There is too much description. If you tell a joke and have to explain it, then the joke (or story) is not worth telling. There is a VERY confusing section near the middle which almost sent me running the other way. It was an effort to finish it.
I'm reading Love Walked in right now. But, I left it in the car so started another Scottoline book, so am reading that too. I like Love so far. This Scottoline book is getting a lot of people killed really quickly so I am wondering more about how that turns out right now. Spent the day at a garage sale for feral cats then at the Hospice Shop. Then we went to the food store. Maybe I can read some more tomorrow. Hope you're having fun. Loved your e-mails.
Oh, you want to know how I like them: The baker in NY was excellent. could not put it down until I finished it in the wee hours of the morning. The Lisa Scottoline books are like intellectual candy. I can read one in a day with few distractions. The Phila./Main Line aspects are really cool to realize those things are just around the corner. Um, Prodigal Summer was food for thought and is interesting to discuss the ecological aspects of it. I also want to read her book about organic gardening.
Hi Progress, I think you suggested all the books to me except the Jane Goodall book which I stumbled upon in the bookstore. I now have Deanna reading Prodigal Summer and Water for Elephants. I'll give her the baker in NY book too next time I see her. I am all ears when you suggest books! You have excellent ideas!!!! Thanks for all the great ideas.
