I was born on February 1, 1964--which means that I just celebrated my 45th birthday. The photo is my Mom, but she looks like me, so you get the idea. I'm a lawyer and a native Texan. I have an eclectic taste in books as my bookshelf shows.

The earlier one didn't look much like me anymore. I think this one is my passport picture that Kennan used a graphics package to make look like a pencil sketch.

    Hi,

I see you like Historical Romances too. If you're interested, check out my Historical Romances group. Among other things, I have a quizzes post and an "Upcoming Releases" post.

I am SO enjoying that book! It's the audio version. The boys Scout Troop has been talking about plans for "when the zombies come" so that they will be ready. Both Kennan & Ben are signed up to earn Emergency Preparedness this summer. I'm sure they will bring up "undead attacks" as things we need to be prepared for. Tornadoes, floods, alien invasion, sure, but really, what about the zombies?

One of her books, Dreamers of the Day, is the Dayton Big Read book for 2010. I am on the wait list at the library for it.

Your stepson went to culinary art school! Lucky you! I can see why you would let him take over in the kitchen. I'm no master chef, but I love to cook. I find it very relaxing and having the blog encourages me to try new things.

The Zombie Survival Guide - sounds like fun. I'll have to check that out :-)

Sorry I didn't respond sooner to thank you for your detailed recommendation of Pride and Predjudice and Zombies! I'm definitely going to read it this summer. I have a friend who has promised to lend me his treasured copy :-) Looking forward to the romance and mayhem!

Nice to meet you. Thanks for the compliment on the graphic novels. The local library has been amassing an impressive collection of them and I have been plowing through them I am not sure why I don't like nightside but it never rang my bell. Have you tried Butcher yet, I have fallen in love with him this year.

Why yes, yes I do! Eloisa James is delightful. If you have never read her she has quite a back list to catch up on, although right now she is in the middle of her Duchess series, which is set in Georgian England. It is a bit of a change of pace from the usual Regency romances (which I admit I adore).

Madeleine Hunter is another prolific author, as is Sabrina Jeffries. I have had a wonderful time going back and hunting down their old books and trying to find everything they've written. The great thing is they are still very active. Ms. Hunter's new book is in my "to be read" stack.

Loretta Chase is another of my all time favorites. I was thrilled when they re-printed some of her out-of-print Regency romances. She also recently came out with a new book. I will pre-order any of her books without bothering to find out what it's about.

Samantha James and Karen Raney are also solid story tellers. I can't say that I've hunted down every one of their books, but I've never been disappointed in the ones that I have read.

I am not looking at your book shelf as I write this, so I might be preaching to the choir, but I hope I'm giving you some suggestions that you can use.

I know! I've been in a lull recently because I'm currently in school and had finals for the summer semester, but now that I've got 4 weeks off I have a big stack from the library to look forward to! Right now I'm reading cozy mysteries, but I have some sci-fi/fantasy in the stack too. I've finished off the Julia Quinn at my library, do you have any romance authors you'd recommend?

Thanks for answering my question... I too was interested in this book when I saw Mr. Sedaris on the Daily Show. I picked up the audiobook before I went on vacation (just got back). Half way through, and so far I am enjoying it. A few of the chapters in the audiobook are actually recordings of a public reading, so you can hear the audience's reactions to what he is saying, it's great!

I have only added the books I could think of off hand. I think this is a great idea. I have thought in the past that I should keep some sort of card catalog of everything I've read but this is so simple. I wish I could remember half the books I read as a child, that would be some list. Sarah is spending the week with Sarah W. in Hunt, Tx. It's after 10:00 so I'll call you Thursday. Later!
