Rankin has written about 14 "Rebus" novels. However the last one was Sh*te and a bit of a rehash of an earlier story. The best by far are "Black and Blue" where Rebus gives up drink and "The Ressurection Men" where he is sent back to detectibve school. The books are full of atmosphere and the characterisation of rebus is superb. Try one you won't regret it.
