I have loved reading since I was little. I was a complete library geek for many many years of my life and inside I still mostly am. So I have read more books than I care to remember, and I'm only putting ones on here that I think are even worth discussing.

bethany, thanks so much for your input. it really helps. with our group as long as there is not offensive laguage or sexual content we are good. we did read a few books about the holocaust so there were some violent parts, but not too, too bad. i am excited about your suggestions and am going to see if i can get them from our library and take a look at them. thanks so much again. everytime i try to really look at your shelf something distracts me, like right now my 5 yr old is doing her phonics in my ear! maybe i should wait until they go to bed, but then i am too tired. it is a never ending battle.

as you can tell i like to talk too. i am going to do a friendship request so that i can keep in touch with you easier if that is okay with you.

thanks for your help and i am sure this is not my last communication with you. it just makes it so much easier when i can get ideas from other lds women for our book clubs. i guess before i moved into the ward here they never could keep it going b/c people would get bored, so hopefully i can keep it exciting and up to lds standards. not that i don't read other stuff, but if it is affiliated with rs we need to keep it that way.

btw what are you all doing for enrichment in december? any good ideas? i have done it for the last 2 years and can't think of a single thing!

hi bethany, i am one of your mom's "friends" on shelfari and she recommended that i look at some of your books to get some ideas for our releif society book club. obviously they must be appropriate since the book club is affiliated with enrichment. i saw "a long way gone" and "three cups of tea" on your list and was wondering if you think they would be okay? do you have any other suggestions? if you don't mind as i look through your list i would like to pick your brain on some more when i get a chance to actually sit down and take a better look. thanks!

A friend of mine just posted a book, "The Candy Shop Wars" by Brandon Mull. Ever heard of it? She rated it 4 stars. She also put on "Midnighters." Never heard of that one either. Melinda just posted one of Oprah's books - "Stolen Lives: 20 years in a desert prison." True story set in Morrocco. Sounds gripping. I'm still reading "Wild Swans." It's a good one!
