Besides training for all sorts of running races and triathlons, reading is my next great passion. I love fiction and non-fiction and two of my secret vices are self-help books and cookbooks. I hope to have created fond memories for my son (I have cherished the time dearly) while reading the Harry Potter series and the Peter and the Star Catcher...more »

    Hi Jennifer,
Yes, you should read The secret history. It's a fantastic book, i couldn't stop reading in it. If you want to read something nice with your children try the Edge Chronicles by Paul Stewart with marvelous drawing from Chris Riddell. on this side you can read and see more about the books: http://www.randomhouse.com/kids/edgechronicles / I hope you like them. Greetings, Monique

I'm so glad you are enjoying it, Jen! I've gotten so many great recommendations here . . .

We haven't picked the tag yet for March officially (but I think I know what it is going to be). It will be announced on Friday, but I could give you a hint offline . . .I think it is going to be fun. We had a great time with historical fiction.

Wow, as you were posting "Eat, Pray, Love" I was adding it to my shelf! How do you get a page like this? Is this considered your blog page?

    Hi Jen
I heard the other Boelyn sister was great. I was with my friend alst week and she said it was great. I am reading Eat Pray Love right now. It is good but not great. I also started Playing for Pizza. It is good because it is written from a male perspective.

Let me share my copy of Pope Joan with you :). I think you'll love it! Hee hee - - I'm laughing about the self help and the cookbooks. For some reason, I always am drawn to self help too . . .but I try not to indulge too much because then I get annoyed if books give me conflicting advice!

    Hi Jen,
Welcome to Shelfari! I'm glad you put Peony in Love on your shelf . . .I just added it to my to-be-read list (which sadly is enormous!). Also, I just finished Pope Joan and loved it! So many great books, so little time :[.
