The Elegance of the Hedgehog sometimes struck me as too philosophical, but for the most part I really enjoyed it. The Sedaris book was hilarious, but it didn't really touch me, perhaps I just couldn't relate.

Brad: Thanks for the information on Maeterlinck. I guess I didn't know he was primarily a playwright, not a fiction writer. I did a search for the plays you mentioned below on Amazon.com and was given 2 choices: one costing $999, the "cheaper" costing $149. Guess I will keep searching! Best wishes, Scott

    Hi Brad,

I do like Film Noir, but have not read any books that it was drawn from. Library book sales are great for old novels that were adapted by Hollywood. Last year I read A Guy Named Joe (which was really only a novelization of the film). I have Gentleman's Agreement and Reap the Wild Wind in my TBR pile.

The Awful Truth is excellent. What other screwball comedies do you like? Have you seen:
    It Started With Eve
You Can't Take it With You
    My Man Godfrey (1936 version)
    The Lady Eve
    Ball of Fire
    Easy Living
