I am an ex-Library worker[who has not yet gotten around to becoming a Librarian - it is on my to do list] who sells books on E-bay at paulandpaulasplazainc and my pro stores site that has several hundred books listed [more each day!] under PAUL AND PAULA'S PLAZA INC.COM and I am in the process of writing a series of childrens stories with the help of my youngest son.
We did it! In February 2009 we turned in our first childrens book entitled MANDY THE ALPHA DOG* and our book debuted June 20, 2009. It can be found at Target, Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com both in the States and the UK. Also in India, Sri lanka and Germany. This is the first in a series of books which are also named: From The Chronicles of The K-9 Boys and Girls On Locus Street. Mandy has her own website at http://www.mandythealphadog.vpweb.com and http://www.pshene.webs.com - need to still access through the home window. I am on http://www.authorsden.com/paulashene and http://the-authors-inn.com and Shoutlife.com and last but the first I was on http://www.filedby.com/author/paula_shene/3531740/
My youngest son is the illustrator and helps with ideas for story lines. 10% of our proceeds are to go to animal rescue.
Are we excited! The dogs are high pawing it and we are just plain delirious!
I have three sons - two who live in the Northwest - Oregon - land of the state tax less and the youngest son lives here in New York. I have 6 grandchildren - 2 adopted and the oldest in the bunch has 2 children, so I guess I have two great grandchildren as well!
I have been married for 44 years to the only man I can envision putting up with all my quirks and who has loved me through thin and thick [yeah, i was a stick - no longer have that claim to fame but a friend told me that she and I would make it through a famine so there is good in that as well]. Why do I love him?...He makes me laugh! My husband has finally had the label of Alzheimers bestowed upon him. On his good days, he knows what is wrong and on his bad day...he's happy. I am seeking ways to retard the progression of this disease and relish the days my husband is the one I married. I am still smiling tho because -
.....I choose to be happy because I am lazy...takes less muscles to smile than to frown thus.... smiling gives me less wrinkles!
I have yet to meet a child or animal that I cannot love and am working on the older models - only a few I've yet to break the shell of friendliness - that is in my small corner of my world...which grows each day
Most books listed on my shelf are novels...I need to add more non-fiction...I really do read that as well!
