I am an adoptive mother of two beautiful children. When they came into my life my world was expanded in so many amazing ways - including my reading list! My current interests are African-American authors, adoption related books, historical fiction, and books about women.

I've rated a lot of my books using the following...more »

Hi, Sarah. I saw that you're reading INVISIBLE MAN. What do you think of it so far? Would you recommend it? I'm looking for a great book to use in my book club and wondered if that would be a good pick.

Hi, Sarah. How have you been? Your shelf inspired me to finally order my Maya Angelou book - it arrived yesterday. : ) It's gorgeous! LOL
What are you reading? I've got Everyday Sacred right now and I am really enjoying it.

Your review of The Welcome Table reminds me of why I liked "Love is a Mix Tape" so much. It's a collection of memories around the music he listened to with his now-dead wife. Same idea. Check out my shelf to read about it. I also did a review on my blog.

When I chose my shelfari preferences, I accepted private notes. If you send a private note to me, I think it comes from your email address. If that's okay with you, give it a try and we can talk more that way.

Sarah, would you mind if we emailed private notes instead of posting on shelfari?

Oooh. I'm a little envious of you getting Maya Angelou's complete set of books. It's been on my amazon wishlist for so long, but other things keep coming up and I keep putting off buying it.
I noticed you have Freeing Your Child from Anxiety on your shelf too - so do I. We've been trying to get some help in that area and I've been searching for books on the subject. What did you think of it?

Hi, Sarah. Just checking in to see what you've been reading....
I've read a lot of YA lately, but also just finished Run by Ann Patchett. It has an transracial adoption theme, which is what drew me in. How about you?

WISE UP is geared to ages 9-12, according to amazon. You might want to think about leaving a note on klink's shelf for more info. She's got the book and has used it with her child. If you get some good info. on it and esp. if you use it, please let me know! I'm interested in it too - my kids are 8 and 3, and I don't know if my son is the right age to get it or not.

Welome to Celebrate Adoptions: Stories from the Heart. It's a great group - pretty active and amazing shelves for both kids and adults. Have you had a chance to browse through them yet? If you have any books to add, please do!

We're doing a group read right now - Daughter of the Ganges by Asha Miro. We'll be starting a discussion in a couple weeks. I hope you consider joining us for it.

You and I have a lot of the same books and interests, from the look of your bookshelf. I hope to hear more from you!

I'm in the middle of the Secret Life of Bees right now, and I can barely put it down! I'll be done with it by the time I see you next, so I might just have to chat with you about it!

Yea! I'm so glad you joined! My OCD side loves adding all these books to my shelf. I can't wait to rate and review them all! Plus, I know you read a lot more than me, so I'm excited to see what's on your shelf.
