I just posted my review of 365 Nights. Let me know if you want me to send it to you.
The CA group has chosen The Kid : What Happened After My Boyfriend and I Decided to Go Get Pregnant by Dan Savage as April's book selection. Hope you'll participate.
Please stop by the Celebrate Adoption group to vote for a group selection to read in April.
I am so excited that you enjoyed 'Something Borrowed'. I can't wait to read it. Wade found 'Baby Proof' on a sale table while he was in South Carolina a few weeks ago.
You should read Savannah Breeze and Blue Christmas both by Mary Kay Andrews. She is so much fun.
Welcome to the Celebrate Adoption group. I'd love to hear from you when you feel like joining in the discussions. The shelves are amazing for kids and adults. Let us know if you find a favorite!
Hey! I picked out the ones I would like to read and added them to my wish list... That list is growing longer and longer which is a good thing. There is security in that, don't you think?!
ok...I got to you by way of Nancy M. who Is my friend. I love your book list. you gave me some refreshing ideas for new reads! New mommyship - I remember those days well. I propped a book on my kid's back while she nursed! Take time for yourself Trixie B! And if the picture is of you...you're cute as a button!
Yep, I've read every chapter in the breastfeeding book so far except for the one on weaning. There's even a chapter in there just for husbands on what breastfeeding wives will be going through and how they can "father comfort" the baby. Seeing Maria successfully doing it is inspiring...it's definitely a big job.
Have you read Parenting Magazine? I think their articles are interesting, quick reads. Oh, and there was also an article on cloth diapers in Time this week called "Diapers Go Green." Do you have any suggestions for parenting books?
How did you like "Guardian of the Horizon"? I am having a difficult time staying focused with it ~ getting confused of who is whom and finding myself rereading parts over and over again (I'm still in the beginning right after Merasen's arrival to England).
Hey Trixie! I noticed that you joined the ASRC Federal group. I haven't read much about Alaska, but I have read about Balto (the dog that saved Nome).
So, which romance novel has Jennifer's name all over it? You can't leave us hanging like this!
I read The Reading Group by Elizabeth Noble before I read Alphabet Weekends. I really enjoyed The Reading Group and was slightly disappointed with Alphabet Weekends. It wasn't "great" but I would still read more of her books - it was a good read for summertime when we were traveling.
I read Eat, Pray, Love and got bogged down. She complained constantly in the pray section. I ended up listening to the last part on tape and did enjoy that. There were a few in my book club that loved it and some that were luke warm. Now that I am finished I am glad I did finish, but just about gave up!
You could probably say Good Harbor dragged at times, but I really enjoyed it! It's completely different from Red Tent. Still, I think Diamant addresses the way women relate to their spirituality in a compelling way.
Hi Sigma Sister,
So glad to see you on this site. I'm looking forward to keeping in touch with you here. Also glad you can still find time to read.
Hey! I want to know how you like "The Secret Life of Bees", too. I have it on my wishlist, which should probably be on the 'plans to read' instead but for now I'm only putting books that I have in my possession in the 'plans to read' category. When Wade is traveling I have plenty of time to read. Well, I can't read any suspense novels while he's on the road. Especially since I'm such a wimp and scared of my own shadow....
