Mea Culpa! I should have mentioned that I am a professional painter. Books are a huge part of my creative life and leave not only ideas for my work but fragments of actual images on my brain which then surface in my "straight from the unconscious" paintings.
For example: The re-reading of the Iliad (Fagles translation) inspired a group called "Ancient Warriors" and the Tao of Physics has started me on a series dealing with the cosmos. The title "Cosmos" on my shelf is by Gribbin & Goodwin" not Carl Sagan which the computer insisted upon.
My areas of interest are cosmology, geology, paleoanthropology, ancient cultures, philosophy and everything. I guess I'm the perfect diletante.
When I'm not reading the above stuff, I'm lost in British/Scott/Irish mystery writers; Rankin, Grimes, James, etc.
