So if you Twilight fans are done sending me hate messages, I'll continue. :) I'd really love to be an author/writer when I'm older. I write a lot of stories; some short, some long, some are working to become novels. I also love to:
-read/write poetry
-collect writing journals
-nerdfighting (dftba, shelfarians. dftba.)
-browsing through antique shops (I like history, but my favorite thing is discovering it myself)
-and I LUH-HUV to be random and crazy and be a total nerd with my friends
(see below for more stuff about my INTERESTS and my BLOG and what-not. feel free to riffle through my SHELF and check out my FAVORITES and WISH LIST! :D)
Oh! and also, if you really don't want to read my whole profile (I understand, don't worry) than feel free to just jump to the last entry. ;)
~~ WARNING ~~
The following writing consists of ramblings that may or may not bore you to the point of death. aLiwishes will not be held responsible if this event should occur. thank you.
Anywho...some of my interests are... the show "Friends," the Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling, the band DMB (go 2007 and 2008 summer tour! whoo...! hoo!), James McAvoy (heh, heh...), chocolate covered strawberries, Williamsburg, VA, revolutionary times (hence the interest in the colonial town of Williamsburg...), the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, my friends, my family, the tv shows Bones, House, Fringe, Medium, The Office, and Parks and Recreation, Sims 2 (I own Open for Business, Pets, Nightlife, University, Bon Voyage, and Seasons), the show "Good Eats" with Alton Brown, Paula Deen, books (duh), puppies/cats/anything that will tolerate a hug, writing (whoo!), being anti-global warming, traveling, rambling on... (haha, haven't you caught on yet?), photography, youtube, nerdfighting, making faces in mirrors (usually the reason i take so long in the bathroom...), being on tv (both my parents work in the media, so i've gone with them on "take your kid to work day" and it's super fun), bugging my brother, hanging with my sister (who's getting married in OCTOBER!!), chatting with my aunts (cathy and michelle and cindy) 'cause they're totally awesome, being a neat freak, roller skating, Calvin & Hobbes by Bill Waterson, getting gifts, making fun of typos- especially mine, and to wrap it all up... trying to be as creative and friendly as possible (but, hey, no one's perfect 0:)) so that's pretty much me. hello? anyone still reading this? echo...? aw, well. enjoy your day on shelfari!

*Oct 18*
Hey...um, I love to read. It's one of my biggest hobbies. I aspire to be an author, or at least published once :) I want to work at a publishing company, starting at the slush pile and working my way up. The only glitch is that most big publishing companies are unfortunetly (sp) in New York City. This is somewhat bad because... I'M TERRIFIED OF BIG CITIES!!! Even the one I live in. I know, I'm such a whimp but whatever. Let's just stick to the subject books!
*Oct 24*
Hey! Just wanted to say hi. 'So glad you joined, Martha! I'm being a chef for Halloween. No running from house to house this year with the parents, just walking around town and stealing candy from my brother :) I can't wait! I'm trying out for Power of the Pen and am coming to the practices, so wish me luck! I'm so excited- fall is here! It is B-E-A-U-tiful here. It's no fair when your stuck inside, just looking out the window in Algebra class. *sigh* I can't wait to see you this weekend Sai! You can finally see my haircut! ttyl! love yuh!
*Oct 26*
I changed my mind, I'm being a hippie for halloween. I'm trick-or-treating w/ Felina, Victoria, Meaghan, Rebecca and Chrystina on Halloween- which is on a wednesday, by the way. Ug. I can't wait for your visit this weekend Sai! I'm so excited! love y'all!
*Oct 28*
Hello: Tonight was trick-or-treat night in my neighborhood, so I got to hand out candy. The little ones are so sweet! It was this boy Charlie's first time trick-or-treating and he looked so cute in his Scooby-Doo costume! He had no clue what he was doing, but he was smiling! I hope everyone had a great pre-halloween weekend; BOO!
*Oct 31*
Happy Halloween everyone! Happy Hauntings to all ghosties! I'm a hippie tonight! congrats martha, on winning the costume contest today! lol
*Nov 3*
Hey, guys. happy november! it's already freezing! I spent the whole day in an old blanket chest reading my book, "A Northern Light." It's very good. The skits in English were very...(what's a good adjective for this one? ummm...ah-ha! got it!)...entertaining! Good job everyone. Well, ttyl. c yuh.
*Nov 16*
Hello, again! Wow, I haven't been on here in a long time! WELL.....I tried out for Power of the Pen, so I hope that goes well. Mrs. Warner said we'd find out before thankgiving break! I'd be happy to even make an alternate with all the talent that was in that room! I'm no longer dreading the thought of NYC for my aspiration to join the publishing bussiness. All because of the book "A Northern Light." It's really inspiring. So I have to get back to homework. ttyl!
*Nov 22*
~HAPPY THANKGIVING! GOBBLE OBBLE!~
I made Power of the Pen! Whoo!....Hoo!
So today I'm going over to my aunt's to have thanksgiving dinner with her and my grandma. All of my aunt's sons (my three cousins) are spending thanksgiving at their girlfriends, so that sucks. Well, except Zach, he's in CA working. So happy turkey day everyone! (even though I prefer a ham- i don't like turkey that much.) Stay turkish!
*Dec 14*
hey, popples. I just added around 20 books because I haven't been on in such a long time. So, they casted Edward from Twilight today for the movie! I'm dissapointed(/freakin' mad), but Stephenie Meyer seems pretty happy, so I'm gonna trust her judgement. It's the actor that plays Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter, so that's how you can recognize him. His name is Rob Somethin-or-other. Informed, aren't I? So I planned out my future a couple days ago...(lol, that sounds so casual and weird...)...Well, at least what I think I'd like to do w/ my future. Go to college...blah, blah, blah....and either work at a Publishing Co. (yes, still hooked on that idea, I think it would be perfect for me), own a small business consisting of a book and coffee shop, OR, become an anthropologist. (anthropology is identifying decomposed human remains. I'd like to work in the homocidic anothropology department (solving murder cases by the study from the remains)) And after this wonderfull occupation, I'll retire in Williamsburg, VA and become a reenactor, which I think would be really fun because I'm a Williamsburg/ Revolutionary War freak. So I hope you all enjoyed my rambling about stuff you don't care about and I hope you also enjoy a marvolous (sp) weekend these chilly days. Good luck to all band members on their concert this weekend! Warm hugs and sweet kisses! ttyl!
*Dec 22*
Hey! THREE MORE DAYS!!!!!!! I just came home form my grandma's and opened presents. I'm so excited! I got blank sheet music, so now I can write out all the little tunes I pick out, instead of jotting down just note names on my warm-up sheets. (I play alto saxophone.) Well, that's my mind-blowing news of the day. I'll catch up with you later!
*Dec 23*
Day before Christmas Eve!!!! AHHHH!!!!!
Like my new pic/icon thing? GO GIANT TIKI MEN!!!!!
*Dec 25*
Merry Christmas everyone! THAT'S RRRRRIGHT! It's christmas! I opened all my presents at my Dad's. I got a lot of clothes (including the softest bath robe ever!), Sims 2 Pets, and portable speakers for my ipod. I still have to go to my mom's and family in Erie, "Pa." I hope everyone is having a fantastic day off, (and if you don't have the day off, SO sorry...) and stay warm! (even through there isn't any snow....stupid global warming...) ttfn!
*Dec 27*
Okay, let's take a vote, shall we? WHO'S BORED OUT OF THEIR MINDS?!?! I AM!!! It's crazy, I know, but I'm starting to wish teachers actually gave us some homework over break. I guess I could work on power of the pen and (*gak!*) study island, but I... i just don't want to. So today I'm exchanging too big/too small clothes I got for Chrismas. I hope you guys are more exciting... ttyl
*Dec 2...8? no, 29? Aw, well*
Hiyuh popples. So tonight I'm going to see the second National Treasure, Book of Secrets. I haven't realized how many movies are out that I want to see. Alvin and the Chipmunks, Enchanted, The Great Debators, I Am Lengend, National Teasure, P.s. I Love You, Sweeney Todd, Atonement, The Water Horse, and Spiderwick's. I'm telling yuh, I need to get out more! I'll prob call my friends and ask to get together soon. What movies have you guys seen/want to see?

*Dec-er-I mean- JAN 6*
Lol, happy new year peoples. I almost typed Dec, again. But I'm rejoicing because my b-day's this month! Whoo...Hoo! But going back to school is a bummer. Break went way too fast, and I wasted too much of it playing the Sims 2 computer game. Anyone else obsessed with that game? have a good one :)
*Jan 6*
P.S. I might be on The Oprah Whinfrey Show.
(freakout starting......NOW)
*Jan 7*
Hey, everyone! Today is my mom's b-day, so happy b-day to her! I started a new group called "Posting on the Prompt" and I'd really appreciate it if anyone who is reading this please join. It's fun: every wednesday there is a new prompt, and you write a short story or poem based on that prompt. At the end of the week, I'll read all of them and choose a winner; the winner gets to decide the next prompt. :) Don't bother searching it, it's too new to be in one of the first pages, so you can find the group avatar under "Groups" in my own groups. So remember: POSTING ON THE PROMPT! I really hope you join, I'd like to have some new stories and poems posted up there!
*Jan 11*
Hallo! Yay! Today is Friday! I can't wait for my birthday, just one more week! (sorry about all the exclamation points, I'm just super awake right now and I have no clue why) I hope every had/ is having a FABULOUS day! ttfn! Tata for now!
*Jan 12*
Guess what! (not really) I'm going to be on the Oprah Whinfrey Show January 30, with my mom. The show asked us to record a video asking the author Ken Follet a question, since I was named after on of the main characters. They are going to air the video on the 30th! Maybe you'll catch me;
*Jan 13*
Heya. i've been checking everyday for new members on my group. i'd really appreciate it if people would spread the word. it's sorta hard to do by myself. But nothing new has been happening lately, my b-day and oprah are the only big news. (sorry if i sound a bit boring, but i woke up about 2 minutes ago) I'm so happy i don't have any homework this weekend (well, i would have math, but i forgot my binder at school...:P) I think i'm gonna learn how to drive today. fingers crossed! :)
*Feb 3*
Super Bowl Day! AR-HAR-HAR-HAR! (that was the Tim the Tool Man Taylor man-laugh, in case you didn't get that...) Well, instead of going to a super bowl party today, i've been invited to my mom's friends' party to watch the Puppy Bowl! which is much more entertaining... on animal planet, they hold the puppy bowl- they basically throw a whole bunch of super cute puppies in a ring with a whole bunch of toys for them to play with. they tumble over each other and flop around- it's the cutest thing on the planet! there's also a ref in case things get too rowdy :) then, there's the kitty-half-time show! they cut to a ring full of fluffy-cute kittens tumblin' around during half time. I'm telling you- animal planet is the way to go :)
*Feb 7*
Hey. just a little shaky, I had a bad day. I feel horrible. Bleh. I'm tired, so I'm going to bed. Good. Night.
*Feb 8*
Feeling better this morning, ESPECIALLY now that i've found out the new release date for Breaking Dawn! the fourth book in the twilight series! yay! i started painted a mural in school with all my friends, i'm just a helper/volunteer. hope everyone's day is bright and shining! (though it never hurts to be dull and gloomy now and then...)
*Feb 13*
Hey! casting call for extras to be in the new Twilight movie, ages 14-24! yay! i qualify! (too bad i live across the country though....hmph) nothing more to say today... 'cept we're having chocolate fondue tonight... that's worth a high pitched "yay" alright... okay. i'll ttyl! :)
*Feb 18*
Wow, we've had so many days off of school, i think i forget where my locker is! (jk, i remember....now) saturday was my big shopping/spending-all-my-gift-cards-in-one-day day. i bought some cool bamboo beady stringy things to hang over my bedroom door, some picture frames, Becoming Jane (w/ James McAvoy- yay!), and the last season of Friends i needed! i now have a ll ten seasons. also, i went to a huge antique store that day and bought some really old, 1800s, pictures of portraits of a couple of people; also i found (this is SO cool...) letters from a World War II soldier to his friend in Cleveland. How cool is that? there are six, and they describe his base camp and friends and how much he wants to go home. it's really amazing. 'hope everyone is having a great day! ttyl
*Feb 23*
Hey all. I hope everyone is having a great day. i'm feeling a a bit under the weather, but i'm okay. Today is my sister's b-day, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to her...:) everyone stay safe and happy :) warm hugs and sweet kisses...
*Feb 26*
I got a kitten yesterday! It's a "he" and he's a creamy orange color with a bright pink nose and green eyes. i can't decide on a name, though. i'm so excited! Lucy (my other cat) is so curious. i'm hoping she'll show him the ropes of the neighborhood :))
*Mar 4*
I just started the book "On Writing" by Stephen King, and it's really good so far. i just finished Into the Wild, too (i'm seeing the movie tomorrow). so, guess what? i got a job at the village Herb Shop! (i know, i know, it probrably sounds like some gypsy, phycic type shop with dream catchers on every window, crystal balls on all the shelves, each lamp draped in dark beaded cloths, but, no. it's a place where you can find all your gardening needs, culinary supplies and recipes, neat trinkets, and pretty home decor. it's really cool, and i can't wait to start working there :) ) So, mostly, for the first 6 months, i'll be sweeping the floors, cleaning the bathroom, restocking the shelves, etc. sort of like an apprentice job. the next level is answering the phone, working the cash register, helping out customers, another etc. so i'm hoping i can have fun and gain some character at the same time. :) have a great day! :P
*Mar 7*
Hello, everybody! I hope everyone is feeling well- cause i'm not; i was sick with a fever yesterday, but i feel better now. But thank you for panicking, you're all so kind ;P So there's the bad news, but good news is: no select choir today! i made it to regionals in power of the pen! my kitten let me pet him! i start working at the Village Herb Shop tuesday or thursday! we had a snow day wednesday! i have 16 members in my group! (Posting on the Prompt! remember that name!!!!) I started another good book, only it's not published yet! i like fruity pebbles! *stops and clears throat* sorry, got a little carried away... but seriously, it's been a good week. btw, i realized i've been changing my avatar a lot, but that's only because there's so many fun photos on my computer. 0:) talk to you later people! lylapt! happy friday! :)
*Mar 13*
I had power of the pen yesterday, and it's always really fun. i can't wait to go to the regional competition!!! if only SOMEONE (*cough-cough-carrie-cough-cough*) would come to the meetings, it would be so much more fun...! but they don't. :( *sigh* haha. i got this really funny e-mail, i'll post it in a sec, but i just wanna say some of the tips Stephen King gave in his book "On Writing":
~try to avoid using adverbs at all costs
~never use the word "that" when unnessary
~never use the word "got"
~never use passive verbs- i.e. instead of "the rope was thrown by the writer" say "the writer threw the rope"
~always use the adjective or other word you wanted to use first- your second choice will never be as good as the first
~describe whatever your describing the way you want to describe it
~once in a while, put together nouns and verbs that shouldn't belong together: Rocks Explode, Mountains Float, Jane Transmits...(Plums Deify!)
~the editor is always right (haha, no pun intended): "Writing is human; editing is divine."
~make sure you know your vocab (that DOES NOT always mean "big words") and grammar (don't you groan at "grammar" it's really not as bad as you think- schools just like to make things sucky sometimes...)
~make sure your paragraphs flow
~never bug the crap out of people in your writing on purpose (this does not include your sibling)
~never use the word "zestful" (long story...)
~dreams are very helpful if you are looking for something to write about
~never plan the plot before hand, let your characters plan it for you
~and don't make character maps, your characters want to show who they are, they don't want you to tell them who they are
so that's how far i've gotten in his tips (oh, shut up, it was necessary, don't freak out...). so, yeah. :)) i like them- they're good tips ;)
here's the funny e-mail (haha):
Toilet Cleaning Instructions :
1. Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.
2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.
3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids. You may need to stand on the lid.
4. The cat will self-agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet; the cat is actually enjoying this.
5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a 'power-wash and rinse'.
6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.
7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can and quickly lift both lids.
8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom and run outside where he will dry himself off.
9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.
Sincerely,
The Dog

Good song:
"Beautiful Disaster"
He drowns in his dreams
An exquisite extreme, I know
He’s as damned as he seems
And more heaven than a heart could hold
And if I try to save him
My whole world could cave in
It just ain't right
It just ain't right
Oh and I don't know
I don't know what he's after
But he's so beautiful
Such a beautiful disaster
And if I could hold on
Through the tears and the laughter
Would it be beautiful?
Or just a beautiful disaster
He's magic and myth
As strong as what I believe
A tragedy with
More damage than a soul should see
And do I try to change him?
So hard not to blame him
Hold on tight
Hold on tight
Oh 'cause I don't know
I don't know what he's after
But he’s so beautiful
Such a beautiful disaster
And if I could hold on
Through the tears and the laughter
Would it be beautiful?
Or just a beautiful disaster
I'm longing for love and the logical
But he's only happy hysterical
I'm waiting for some kind of miracle
Waited so long
So long
He’s soft to the touch
But frayed at the end he breaks
He’s never enough
And still he's more than I can take
Oh 'cause I don't know
I don't know what he's after
But he's so beautiful
Such a beautiful disaster
And if I could hold on
Through the tears and the laughter
Would it be beautiful?
Or just a beautiful disaster
He’s beautiful
Such a beautiful disaster

Okay after i have gone on and on about how excited i am for the state tournament for power of the pen, i figured i owe you a description of what it was actually like. it was held at a college that was about a two hour drive away from where i live. we went in a school transportation van driven by joe the bus driver (or would it the "van driver" instead?) we got there and we hauled all our stuff into one of the dorms. but get this: we got to stay in a suite! not like baseball game suite, college suite. it had a living room and kitchen and bedrooms and everything. the other members of the team were two other eighth graders Gordon and Olivia and two seventh graders Carolyn and Ana. Mrs. Warner is our coach. so after we were settled in we went on a scavenger hunt (oo-ah...WRONG). it was really boring because the scavenger hunt was walking around the freezing cold campus looking for facts about the college (like, when was the fitness center renovated? grr...). THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF SQUIRRELS AT THIS COLLEGE! NOT KIDDING! then we went to the gift shop and Gordon bought a frisbee. so we went to this giant field that had a super steep hill that brought us back up to the buildings right next to it. we tossed the frisbee aroung and played frisbee truth or dare (if you didn't catch it you had to pick truth or dare). then it was time for the dance and the dj played musical crap. there were some cool highschoolers who were in power of the pen in 7th and 8th grade who were going around taking pictures for a slideshow. they were fun and now we're friends. (Noah, David, and John... how biblical ;)) so next year Gordon, Olivia, and myself are going to join them and come back next year and make a slideshow with those guys. then we went back to our dorm and watched the office on DVD until midnight. next morning- WRITING TIME! we woke up, had breakfast, went back to dorm, watched office, went to opening ceremony, and then the first round. in case i have never mantioned, Power of the Pen is: a group where you are given a prompt, it could be anything (sound a bit like my group "Posting on the Prompt"?) and then you are given 40 minutes to write a narrative based on that prompt. First tournament is districts. if you qualified based on your scores, you went to regionals, if you qualify once again, you make it to states. states is a bit different because 1) you only have 35 minutes to write. 2) there are four rounds instead of three (explain in a sec) and 3) you are competing against 700 other writers. okay, so anyway, we went to the first round. i was in the same room as Olivia for that one. the prompt was "Safari. Go on a dangerous trek through somewhere other than a jungle." i wrote from a wasp's point of view and it was flying through a picinic. it was dangerous because humans were trying to whack it away. i titled it "Buzz Off." second prompt, same room, though Olivia is in a different one. the prompt was "The Advocate. Definition: one who supports another's cause. Stand up for something or someone in your narrative." i wrote about a girl helping another girl (who was the unattractive twin of the most popular girl in school) get enough courage to perform in the talent show. titled "Gertrude Sherman Smith." the third prompt i was in a different room, one upstairs. the prompt was "On the outside looking in. describe what you see." at that i had to bite my tongue to supress a snort. "god, how many people are going to write about popularity or zoos?" i had thought. so i wrote about thievery. titled "The Necklace." that one was my favorite of the ones i wrote overall. then i liked the wasp one, then the cliche, cheesy talent show one. now all we could do was wait. we had lunch, walked around campus, played the grassophone, and then guess what we did? yes, it's true, we watched the office even more. then it was time for another assembly. we listened to the author "Jamie Adoff" speak (he was nice) and then it was time to announce who went on the to the fourth round. the fourth round, a.k.a. the power round, is kind of like a lightning round. they take about 30 kids from the original 700 who had the highest scores (all three stories' scores added together). those students have to write on 0NE MORE PROMPT because the judges can't decide which of them to choose as the winner. you have to be accepted into the power round to be able to have a chance to place at all in the whole competition. they announce those people in alphabetical order. i was the second person announced. i was the only person on our whole team, both 7th and 8th, to make it to the power round. :) too bad the power round's prompt sucked. it was "Growing up means the child inside of you dies a little. explain how this is true in your narrative." i wrote about a girl who got her driver's liscense and on the first day she hit a deer. it was my lowest score out of all four stories. oh, well. i knew it was bad and wasn't expecting to place. BUT I MADE IT TO THE POWER ROUND AND I AM SOOOOO HAPPY!!!! that's is CERTAINLEY good enough for me. :)
p.s. on the ride home olivia, gordon, and i started a video blog. it's pretty funny. ;)
*July 3*
HELLO!!! i just got back from away camp today!!! it was excellent! so much fun- so much stuff- so much fun. that pretty much sums it up. it was amazing. :DDD
anyway... happy u.s.a. independence day!!! whoohoo! tomorrow will be GREAT!!
so i have a challenge for everyone... here it is:
GO A WHOLE DAY WITHOUT USING THE WORDS "I", "ME", OR YOUR OWN NAME. YOU CANNOT SPELL OUT YOUR NAME, EITHER. THE GOAL IS TO NOT TALK ABOUT YOURSELF FOR A ONE WHOLE DAY- FROM THE MOMENT YOU WAKE UP, TO THE MOMENT YOU GO TO BED. TAKE THIS TIME TO LEARN A BIT MORE ABOUT THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU.
so there's the challenge. it might be fun. i was bored and was thinking of fun ways to challenge people, but let it have some meaning and not be completely pointless. did i succeed??? please tell me!!! :)
*Aug 10*
Hey! I just got from band camp!!! i play alto saxophone :D it was actually really fun...
one time.... at band camp....
haha, just kidding.
anyway, i thought i'd share some titles of stories/novel-things i'm working on. now they aren't final (definitely not final) but they basically just sum up what the story is about:
Melanie: A Boggart's Tale
New Age Holocaust
Mark-Time-Mark
Revolution
there are more, but i can't remember them at the moment... :-/ if you have a question about any, like if a title intrigues you (by some miracle on this earth), please, PLEASE, post a note and ask. have a great day!
*Aug 14*
darn it
darn it!
DARN IT! (i really didn't want to say "darn"...)
i need to... i have to talk to... should i...? guh, this is so screwed up... but how could i...? and then ruin...? well ruin what??? i don't know... maybe... idon'tknow. i need to talk to... jeez....
*Aug 16/17*
hi! i feel so much better, and in a really happy mood lately. i'm really sorry about that last entry, i was pretty upset :(
but i'm alright now!! so it's all good! SMILE!! :D
anyway, this date heading is 16/17 because i started this post at 11:56:27 pm on the 16th, but by the time i actually post it it'll be the 17th! HOW COOL IS THAT?! :D
i had my first marching band performance this evening- yay! i didn't screw up more than... *counting fingers* .... 6 times!! yay!!
i think... i think that occurence on the 14th made me realize something... i don't think i'll be worrying about that from now on. (i'm really sorry if you have no idea what i'm talking about!! so just ignore those parts ;D)
look up this SWEET funk/punk/rock band from moscow!: DISTEMPER
~the singer's voice sounds like cookie monster! :D my favorite song of theirs is "Think Who Is Your Friends"- haha, it's a pretty rough russian translation; oh, well~
(p.s. finished and posted at 12:09:04 am)
*Aug 22*
hi! k, this is an update entry:
work=good, working two days a week now, and i enjoy it better now that the new girls i work with are really nice ;)
school= had orientation yesterday and got my schedule and toured the high school- AH! i'm not nervous AT ALL about the people (honest), it's just all the work and classes and keeping up with homework that i'm freaked about. it's not that i'm a bad student (i've gotten straight A's and one B since sixth grade... not including P.E.), just homework really stresses me out, because i don't really know how to manage it. i'm seriously considering starting a study group.
friends= a few conflicts, i'll admit. i still dislike this one girl, who is completely oblivious... but that's REALLY all i can think of off the top of my head :D what's good is that i'm closer than ever to my other friends, and i met some new kids at orientation today- which was great!! i'm so excited... :D
family= my doggie is epilectic (sp), which means he has seizures at least once a month :( it's really sad and he just had a bad incident and had to stay at the vet's all day. i was really upset to say it in a few words... (which i'm sure you appreciate) :( my grandma is in the hospital after having a big stroke that had followed smaller ones. she's getting better everyday, which makes me so happy. my grandpa, who lives across the country, is recovering nicely from open heart surgery- another thing that makes me very happy. he's very excited i joined marching band, haha :D
books= i officially collected a stack of books, set them in my living room, and i'm reading them in that order. i already finished three (YAY!) which is exciting, because it means i'm actually sticking to a project/goal i came up with and am going through with it. so far i finished Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, The People of Sparks, by Jeanne DuPrau, and Just Listen by Sarah Dessen. next one, Wuthering Heights, by Emily Bronte :D THAT one i'm looking forward too :))
television= i'm so excited for Bones and House!!! I'm a huge fan of both!! yayyyyyy!!! i also might start watching the last season of ER; my mom is a big fan and said it's easy to fill me in on what's been going on and whom's whom. (whom's whom, right? that's grammatically correct?)
after-school-activities= i'm thinking of joining: newspaper, debate team, track, and creative writing club. um, though that would mean my schedule would be jam packed... all those, plus marching band, plus homework.... eugh.... :P (brilliant!)
shelfari= i really enjoy talking to new people, so leave me note!! :D i love the group i'm co-administering: "What If Ur Life Was A Book?..." which is doing FABULOUSLY, so please join!! it's very cool ;)
i like this smiley!!! O_o
*Sept 17*
God, i hope that's the right date... hm... anywho.
should i keep doing the update things like that? i think i should. so here goes:
work= going great. i've been i bit sluggish, but i've gotten to know my co-workers a lot better, so the atmosphere is great whenever i'm there :D
school= high school is too darn hard!!! the homework is hard, takes forever, the teachers aren't very fun, i never see any of my friends, and i never have any time to do anything else. grr... i've had the last three days off because hurricane ike blew out the power, and the school hasn't been able to make it come back on. so i've caught up on my sleep. huzzah!
friends= i miss saisha. i never see victoria anymore. i hardly talk to molly nowadays. i only get to see my friends in band, and those who aren't in band, i never see or talk to anymore. IT SUCKS!!!
family= mom got a new job!! yay!! paul is working in an office now instead of at home... i'm so lonely when i come home from school!! dad is at a international studebaker meet in lancaster, PA, for his lark convertable. good luck to him!! my sister needs to take me shopping. matt is very excited that he got a giant van halen poster from the rock n roll hall of fame. harley is sleepy. sam kitty just barfed and i had to clean it up (ew). lucy is just peachy. my new kitten, McIntire, is all black, has orange eyes, and purrs so loud you can hear him in the other room.
books= i'm not making very much progress on my stack of books to read. school has made sure of that. i have to finish Monte Cristo by the... 2nd? of October. I'm on page 6. whoo.
television= i've been watching Bones, and House, and i can't wait for The Office to premeire on Thursday at 9!!! whoo hoo!!!
after-school-activities= marching band rocks. simple as that. when spring rolls around, i'm joining track. i also want to join select choir. i'm sad there's no more power of the pen in high school :( i'm going to start volunteering at the old folks' home down the street. i ='ve been asked to homecoming! yesss!
shelfari= i hardly have time to go on anymore. i've hardly participated in any of my own group's discussions. the only thing i really do is check the site for notes, leave a note or two, and tweek my shelf a bit. *sigh* i miss you guys!!! (leave a note! i like meeting new people!!)
p.s. do i sound like a bubbly person? 'cause i'm really not. i'm a capricorn for crying out loud.
*Sept 26*
TGIF!! DFTBA!! LYLAPT!! NPHS!!
The presidential debate is tonight! OH, YEAH! MAKING HISTORY FTW!
I don't feel like doing an update version. So deal with it :P
Mondays= writing
Tuesdays= work
Wednesdays= run
Thursdays= work
Fridays= cook
kitten loves me! my lucygirl loves me! samkitty loves me! my doodle dog loves me!
so filled with love lately... and easily agitiated lately... that's a weird combination :-/
I MISS MY FRIENDS!!! I LOVE YOU SAISHA!!
dave matthews band rox my sox. as does hugh laurie. and don't you forget it.
I failed my biology quiz... *eep!*
But at least I did well on my history essay and unit test!! huzzah! (huzzah is the word of the week, btw)
i'm noticing i'm using a lot of abbreviations (sp)... i'll put up a key later.
Today was picture day. Saturday game tomorrow. We're making monkey bread in foods next. I'm going to homecoming with my friend connor. I'm trying out for select choir on Monday, and have no clue what song to sing. Sunday I'm meeting with friends. I have to chow down on Monte Cristo this week- reading the whole 450 pages by next thursday... I'm on page 26. Oh, god.
i want to try tirimisu by the time i die... i also want to learn how to spell it right...
I'm not used to proper capitalization in my blog, here. But it'll get here sooner or later. :-/
*Nov 27*
HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVE!!!
I made select choir which is on tuesdays, wednesdays, and thursdays. I work on mondays and fridays. MY WEEK IS PACKED!!!
high school is killing me. ugh.
I'm glad i've been spending a lot of time with friends lately. that always makes me happy :)
Thanksgiving break starts today, and tomorrow, thanksgiving, I'm heading to California!!! We're visiting my grandpa, he's not doing too well with his lung cancer, so I'm glad I'll get to see him. :)
*Dec 22*
Happy Noel :)

*Jan 1*
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I spent my new year's eve with my friends sledding, making pizza, having chocolate fondue, watching old movies, watching the ball drop in time square, and exploding party poppers that were filled with jokes and paper crowns and toys :))
New Year's Revolutions (I hate these):
-eat better
-more exercise
-more writing
-more hugs and compliments
-be NICE(er)
How did you spend your new year's??
*Jan 11*
hi! it's sunday!
*Jan 31*
My, God, can you believe tomorrow is FEBRUARY??? holy crap
*Apr 13*
Why, hello there Shelfarian. Ah-hem. My name is Ali and I just moved back... Yes, yes, I used to come by here almost every day, can you believe it? Well, I guess we're profile neighbors once again! Pop by anytime and feel free to ask me any Q's and hopefully I'll be able to give you some A's in return- I have plenty of 'em ;).
Well, anywho, it's nice to see Shelfari again after so long. It's the day after Easter and I believe I gained five pounds just by LOOKING at my basket of candy and treats. I finally decided to crawl out from under my rock and joined the rest of society by renting and watching Slumdog Millionaire, an excellent motion picture. Springbreak found my school's schedule at last, and I am estatic at the thought of sleeping in on a Tuesday. I hope I can rack my brain enough to remember all the books I've read since my last login! Have a good one- cheers!
*Apr 16*
It's spring break this week, thank God, but I'm not sure I'm enjoying it to the fullest. So far my thrilling activities include celebrating Easter, spending time at my Gram's, buying a lot of chocolate at the local candy shop, walking to work in the freezing cold, visiting my sister in her new house, staying up and watching all the Late Night shows and then some, sleeping in until 2:30 pm on a Tuesday (yes, I accomplished my goal), going to my best friend's basketball game, and sitting on my butt with the TV on mute, my laptop on my lap, and a half-eaten bag of Craisins at my right hand. Yup, I'm living the oh-so-lazy life, and admit it- you're green with jealousy. Later today I'm having a movie marathon with my friend Victoria, so until then, I'll stare at a blank Microsoft Word document trying to convince myself that whatever I write isn't TOTAL crap. Enjoy Shelfari surfing! :-/
*Apr 18*
Hey, there. Today I babysat for a few hours and then, because it's a gorgeous day, drove around in our Studebaker convertible with my dad and got yummy Orange Julius :) (sorry, random comment, does anyone else think the ads on this site or facebook or any other site are really weird??) My dad's birthday is Monday, so today I'm going golfing with him and my sister, which I'm very excited about. I started writing something, but I don't want to jinx it, so yeah. have a grrrrreat day! [3
Steady as we go.

*Jan 12*
Guess what! (not really) I'm going to be on the Oprah Whinfrey Show January 30, with my mom. The show asked us to record a video asking the author Ken Follet a question, since I was named after on of the main characters. They are going to air the video on the 30th! Maybe you'll catch me;
*Jan 13*
Heya. i've been checking everyday for new members on my group. i'd really appreciate it if people would spread the word. it's sorta hard to do by myself.

Sincerely,
The Dog

STATE POWER OF THE PEN TOURNAMENT. I MADE IT TO THE POWER ROUND!!!!
*May 23*
I've been through the question a thousand times through my head. "Should I delete the May 21st entries?" I've come to the conclusion "No". it was how i felt that particular day, i want to remember it. i want to figure WHY i felt that way.

Mondays= writing
Tuesdays= work
Wednesdays= run
Thursdays= work
Fridays= cook
kitten loves me! my lucygirl loves me! samkitty loves me! my doodle dog loves me!
so filled with love lately... and easily agitiated lately... that's a weird combination :-/
