How did you find The White Tiger? I read Le Clezio's Onitsha.Very different than anything read by me before.Set in Africa in the early part of 20th century, the book is rich in language and imagery. The story did not really touch my heart. What are you reading now?
hanks a ton for for suggestions.'Salmon Fishing in Yemen' sounds really interesting. Would definitely try to get it."Sea of Poppies' might or might not get the Booker but it is a well researched book and i was able to discover so much about that time period from his book. History as such never touches your heart as it does with thiese kind of books.Have you read Ghosh's 'Hungry Tide' and 'The Shadow Lines'.Both are very good.I found them far better than 'Poppies'
Wow so you come from Iran, i had a couple of friends from Iran when i studied in Aachen a couple of years back. I come from India. I did my master studies in Aachen and later started to work in Hamburg. So what do you do? how long have u been here?

I found a couple of books in common on your shelf. have read Maya by Jostein Gaarder.Could not complete Sophie's World.Too tough. My favourite quote from Maya:
"You can not report from a dream without ending it."
Wondering what to read after Sea of Poppies.Any suggestions? Just about to finish Memory Keeper's Daughter.Incidentally my hubb ust reached Frankfurt this morning. He is there on work.i was there in 2004.
