Hi Ghazale
How did you find The White Tiger? I read Le Clezio's Onitsha.Very different than anything read by me before.Set in Africa in the early part of 20th century, the book is rich in language and imagery. The story did not really touch my heart. What are you reading now?
Hi ghazale
hanks a ton for for suggestions.'Salmon Fishing in Yemen' sounds really interesting. Would definitely try to get it."Sea of Poppies' might or might not get the Booker but it is a well researched book and i was able to discover so much about that time period from his book. History as such never touches your heart as it does with thiese kind of books.Have you read Ghosh's 'Hungry Tide' and 'The Shadow Lines'.Both are very good.I found them far better than 'Poppies'
take care

Hallo Ghazale,
wirklich bewegt haben mich in letzter Zeit "Das Orangenmädchen" und "Ich und die anderen" (engl. "set this house in order").
"Life of Pi" hab ich schon einmal in Händen gehalten, ich denke ich werde es nun doch noch lesen.
Sören
