'Danger's Hour' is a very well-researched and written book about the men of Essex-class aircraft carrier USS Bunker Hill and the kamikaze pilot who crippled the ship in 1945. Kennedy did an absolutely masterful job weaving the two stories together.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who reads about WWII in the Pacific and the kamikaze campaigns. It is a searing, heart-wrenching story of courage and brotherhood.

I was inspired to read this by a Navy Chief Corpsman I met while working up in Boston in '07. I bought it, read it in a day (sneaking pages while I was working), and was in tears by the end.

A very moving story of courage.
