I just visited your blog...very nice. I love the quote from Alice; it's one of my all-time favorites. In fact, I have a magnet with the longer quote on a whiteboard in my home office. Thanks for accepting my invite, and for visiting my blog.
The Minneapolis-St.Paul-Minnesota Group recently hit 100 members, so we're kicking off a 100-Member Celebration! Details are available on the group site. Hint: It involves a drawing for some gift certificates, and participation is required in order to be eligible for the drawing :-) Come celebrate with us!
Also, we've announced that our summer group read will be Leif Enger's newest book: So Brave, Young and Handsome. I'm reading this book right now and will have the discussion thread up by next week. The thread will be available for discussion this entire summer.

Hi, nice to see your comments in the MN group. I'm a bit slow to introduce myself, but I'm the founder of the group, and I also notice we have a few books in common, some of my favorites in fact are on your shelf. By the way, you have a beautiful dog! (I'm assuming that's your dog . . .)
I just wanted to send you a quick note to tell you that the Minneapolis-St.Paul-Minnesota Group has chosen some good books to read and discuss together during the upcoming months. Our Group Read for the months of September/October will be The Master Butcher’s Singing Club by Louise Erdrich and the group read for the months of November/December will be Growing An Inch by Stanley Gordon West. Both books are by Minnesota authors.
I invite you to join us in reading and discussing these books. Personally, I just finished reading The Master Butchers Singing Club and thought it was a wonderful piece of historical fiction with intriguing characters. Should make for an interesting discussion.

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that we are currently taking nominations for September/October group reads for the Minneapolis-St.Paul-Minnesota group .The books nominated don't have to be by Minnesota authors or have Minnesota ties, but that is preferable. Feel free to nominate any genre and type of book, as long as you think it is interesting and relevant to this group. Nominations will remain open for at least one more week, at which time I will close nominations and we will vote.
There is also a separate thread to discuss how the group want to proceed with group reads in general. Whether or not to do them. How often, etc. Your input on this subject would be very much appreciated also!

Thanks for your note! It's taken me a little while to learn to navigate shelfari, hence the delay in answering. Yes, that is my book - available on Amazon, and very inexpensive in used copies. It isn't new - but I wanted it on my shelf anyway! Someday I'll add a few hundred other books to my shelf.
I love the ID photo for Nonireads!
