I'm a wife, mom and a grandmother. I am back teaching high school science, for the love of the kids, the camaraderie of working with other teachers, and because the economy really sucks! I relax by making art glass in my garage studio and am looking forward to taking some graphic art classes. I've been a book lover since the day my mother... more »

I recently went on a job interview and the question was what strategies would I use in such and such a situation. My first thought was what a dumb ass question that is. Any idiot knows you don't know the answer to that until you know all the variables. Besides I hate the word strategic and didn't bother wasting my time answering the question. Then I started reading this book and thought it would be ironic if after taking the "test" one of my strengths was that I was strategic. Sure enough, it was top on the list. So maybe I know myself better than I thought I did? Anyway, there are some new words for strengths that are not related to personality testing. How refreshing to think I really don't have to fix all of my weaknesses, that if I focus on using my strengths to the best of my ability I can accomplish more in less time and enjoy doing it.

This book is not anything you could imagine when reading the title. Especially if you are affiliated with the Southern Baptist or bible belt Christianity. I could not put this book down. It is a book everyone who claims to be a Christian in America should read. I loved it. I learned more from reading this book than I did taking an Old Testament and New Testament course in college, and going to church 3 times a week for years. The book is broad and thematic giving the reader a view of the history of Judaism and the political climate up until the time of Christ and continues to today in the United States. If you are a flag waving nationalist, who thinks the church should run the government and in turn run the country, and every other country in the world, you may not care for this book at all.

I liked this book. It kind of gets your mind thinking outside of the religious box.

Why am I reading this? I think I was PMS ing and felt down about myself. However, it does make me feel better . Not sure why, maybe deep down inside I want to believe in a higher power that thinks I'm a wothwhile human being. So for awhile, this does make me think about it being a possiblity.

A beautiful story about a dog and a man who found a true friendship. Merle is amazing. If you ever doubted animals have feelings, thoughts, and desires, after reading this book you will never doubt again.

An introduction to Tiffany Windows. No pictures to go with the windows described in the narrative. Could have been more information about L.C Tiffany's life. What is impressive is not his window designs but his experimentation with glass blowing, patents, color and that he brought stained glass making to the US.
