I know what you mean about time off, I'm on vacation this week,and have more to do at home then I would at work.As I wait for the Magic Cottage, I have found an old horror novel at my local used book store called The Abyss by Steve Vance, it's about a small town Bed and Breakfast in Indiana U.S. and something horrible in the basement involving some towns people, and missing tourists.
"Severed" sounds like a really interesting novel, have you read anything by this Author before?I just found a copy of the Magic Cottage, I let you know what I think of it.Take Care,Robert

I looked into the MAGIC COTTAGE by Herbert, sounds interesting, as you can see by my shelf I really enjoy good horror stories. thanks for the tip.
I hope you enjoy his books as muCh as I have, a very good stand alone novel by Connolly is BAD MEN.I love reading many different types of books and always open to suggestions.
If you enjoy a good thriller, have you ever read any John Connolly ?He writes about a Private Detective named Charlie Parker, not your average P.I novel very dark and sometimes a bit supernatural.
I tried hard to make a go of that group, but found that there was very little to no interest from other shelfari’ns. Unfortunately my summer got really crazy. But I do hope to make another attempt at getting the group up and running again. So you are more than welcome to join, and I hope to be posting new discussions this week. I also run the Dean Koontz group, and will probably combine the “book of the month” to be the same book for a month or two. Less work for me LOL :)
