You're so funny! I've been reading a lot of young adult books and working with a 6th grade teacher. Last week I hit a slump with NO BOOKS TO READ. It was awful. All the teachers rallied around me though, as soon as they found out I was having withdrawal. I have stacks of every kind of book now--only no true criminal or dog stories.
You know I read more than dragons and sorcerers! Although I don't have all my books up, easily LESS than 1/3 are about dragons and sorcerers. I will admit that my favorite all time author is Tad Williams who wrote the Dragonbone Chair series. There are some parts that are so scary the hair on my arms stands up on ends!
When I was in high school, our teacher told us about a book that was not suitable for the school library. It was about Anne Boelyn, Elizabeth's mother who was a lover of King Henry the 8th. So of course I had to go right out and read it! That lead me to a great interest in Henry the 8th and Queen Elizabeth and later to Mary, Queen of Scots, Elizabeth's half sister. I already had a passion for Shakespeare who was contemporary with Elizabeth...so I read everything I could find and still keep that interest going.
Tif- I just started Measure of a Man, but I really like it. Have you heard anything about it? BTW- I have been meaning to call and say thanks for the visit. We had such a great time. You guys are awesome for letting us barge in and hang out with you! XOXOX Ram
