"Remember what Bilbo used to say. It's a dangerous thing, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you'll be swept off to."
-Frodo - The Fellowship of The Ring.
"Imagination is more important than knowledge. For while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create."
-Albert Einstein
"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you."
-Frank Lloyd Wright
What can I say other than I'm 32 and originally from the Chicago area. I have a great love for animals and the outdoors and I have currently gone back to college to get certified as a Vet. Technician. Like most Shelfarians, I love reading in my spare time. The books listed on my shelf are books that I have read in the past (not necessarily owned). I am open to all sorts of genres and will read pretty much anything; fantasy, sci-fi, chic-lit, mystery, non-fiction, crime, romance, thrillers, biographies, historical fiction (if it sparks my interest, I'll read it!). I do have a soft spot for historical and british literature.
A few things I love: books, dusty old libraries, the sound of violins, traveling to new places, road trips, the outdoors, riding in a speedboat, fishing, hiking, swimming, gardening, animals, cheetahs, hummingbirds, my cats Max and Kitty, my Cocker Spaniel Norman, fall leaves, summertime, the smell of cut grass, a cool breeze on a warm day, picnics/outdoor grilling, big puffy white clouds, bright starry skies, big fat snowflakes, autumn, apple cider donuts, bon-fires, roasting marshmallows to a crisp, fireflies, sunsets, wildflowers, lilacs, daisies, fireworks, thunderstorms, music, movies, geeky sci-fi TV shows, playing an occasional video game, watching Bears football, a good Chicago Italian Beef or Chicago pizza, my mom's chili, my grandma's potato salad, lucky charms cereal, dark & white chocolate, dutch apple pie, root beer floats, orange creamsicles, crossword puzzles, British accents, Irish accents, learning new things, history, PBS, BBC America, museums, the sound of church bells ringing, going to the zoo, my family, laughing.
A few things I hate: Snobbery, splinters, a stubbed toe, paper cuts, traffic, an over crowded room, a dirty sink, low tank of gas, diets, littering, pollution, animal abuse, a know-it-all, smell of hospitals, driving in a foot of snow, mosquitoes, humidity, job interviews, disorganization, patchouli, okra, liver, spiders, black ink pens, people who talk like Drew Barrymore, people who get "full" on a side salad. ;)
Feel free to leave a note or comment! I love talking to "book friends" who have similar tastes as I do, however, If your an author trying to promote your books or have nothing but erotica books on your shelf (alittle creepy), please don't bother asking for a friendship request (we should have something in common). Also please
LEAVE A NOTE if your requesting a friendship, it's the polite thing to do!
I will not accept any friend invitation without a note.
Also, please come and check out the groups I administer,

A side note: I am one of those annoying people who are constantly changing their avatar! :)
