I just wanted to drop in and say hello- I noticed that it has been a long time since I have written. How is school? Are you almost done? I have been reading a lot lately, but my Shelfari activity has definitely dropped off- i just have a tendency to do things in cycles. It has been really hot here- about 98 everyday, but I know that it is even hotter where you are. I have been trying to exercise everyday, but with the heat it is hard. I have some weird German movie to watch tonight- subtitles-yay! What did you think about John Hughes passing? That was sad, he was still relatively young. Well i am having a bachelor supper of hot dogs- so I'll get to it. I hope to hear from you soon. Jason

Hi Literary Libra, Welcome and thank you for joining the Bibliophile Club Group. We hope that you will enjoy your new group and will find our discussions interesting. You may want to join us in our discussions. Our admins, James, Kelsey, Sarah, Liway and Paul and myself will be only too happy to answer any questions you have about the group. James has started a `Book of the Month theme. and the book to read this month is `The book Thief'. I read it and it is an excellent book. You are welcome to join in or you may want to read your own list of books. The point is that you enjoy being part of our group. All the best and enjoy your reading.

No problem. I had my mid-terms a while ago, and I know it can be stressful. Good luck!

Hey Ann- I am so jealous- I love Chicago- I actually spent the WINTER there one year in the mid 90's and I still love it. I used to be a Flight Attendant and I was based for a short time at Midway. I lived off of Cicero Ave. near the Ford City Mall (it was kinda rough). I went downtown on the L several times a week and lost myself on Michigan Ave. I am not married, either and that also means no kids. Sometimes I feel kinda sad about it - I am almost 37, but for the most part I appreciate the solitude. I am also not into the bar/ club scene. I was engaged once, back in the day, but alas it was not to be. The weather here is nice- it's 68 today and blue skies....have a good flight back to Tucson and please write again soon. Your Friend, Jason

Hey LL (ha- I know who you really are). How are you? I haven't been quite as active on Shelfari lately, but I am still keep an eye on the 80's group a couple of times a week. Sadly, it's going pretty slow. I really need to hit the web for some fresh ideas. How is vet school? Do you have a husband and kids to keep you busy in addition to everything else? The weather sucks here- it has been raining for days. It is supposed to clear up and be 70 tomorrow. I hope so. I have cabin fever...drop me a line whenever you feel like it. TTYS Jason

Hey Sweetie- I appreciate the note and I will now know how to look you up. I briefly changed my screen name last week to my full name and quickly changed it back (I felt too exposed). Check in on the group from time to time and help me with ideas, OK? Why is Toni K. no longer involved- I haven't talked to her? Your friend, Jason R.

Hey Ann- Thanks again for allowing me to take the reigns of the 80's group. I will let you know that while i don't intend to change the basic mission or direction of the group, I may modify the title to reflect that nostalgia discussion overlapping the 80's such as the late 70's or early 90's are OK, too. Take a peek at my introduction- because I threw you props...you advice will always be welcomed and appreciated. I know you are really busy, but keep in touch from time-to-time OK? Later, Jason

Hi Annie, great to hear from you.
I am doing ok... busy busy... aren't we all :)

Molly is too cute... what a lovely photo, looks like she is laughing! So glad you two finally got together :)

Yes, it is summer here... but so changeable and unpredictable... today was very hot... last week we had a cold snap and lots of rain... i just want a "real" summer (our winter was too long and freezing). Anyway, enough about the weather!

Nothing much happening here, i am finally getting around to scrap-booking my photos of my U.S holiday... there are some good ones... i still have my MySpace, but don't use it... i'll try to put some of the photos up... i'll let you know if i manage it!

Looking forward to seeing my Aunty in a couple of weeks time, she and her husband are here in NZ for the first time (from UK)... they are on a tour at the moment, but will stay with us for a week when they are done... haven't seen them since 1993 so it is exciting :)
Apart from that, life is pretty normal...
    take care,
    Jo

    Hey you!!
i got your note on myspace but am unable to reply to it... i think i might have accidentally sent you a tree or a flower or something, because i clicked on it out of curiousity and then it asked me who i wanted to send it to (so i picked you!)
anyway, for some reason, my pc doesn't like your page, and shuts down whenever i try to open it. and god only knows what i have done to my own page... i accidently deleted everything when i was trying to tidy it up ~ you know i am useless at that stuff... that's why it is now blank... hence why i changed by mood to "blank"... very appropriate, LoL! Anyway, i hate myspace... hate hate hate it... i have always had trouble with it since the day i joined... i would have put all this on our private group, but not sure if you would get it, because you don't go there anymore, or i should say it is history now anyway... another group i should leave!
i am really annoyed that i can't get on your page, because i want to see your new pics of the kennel cuties :(
i hope you get milly soon... she is the sweetest thing :)
anyway, keep in touch, whatever way you can!!
    talk soon,
    Jo

    Hi Annie,

You sent me a note some time ago asking if I could take over the admin of Across the Pond. Sorry that it took me so long to get back to you! I'd really love to help.... but, like you, right now my plate is full and I can hardly find the time for reading or for Shelfari. Sorry

Hi Ann, Sorry that you you won't be around for a while, but know that you will be missed. Alas, i closed my MySpace account about six months ago due to disuse. Now i only use facebook. Drop me a line, though, when you come back. Maybe we can think of some new crazy 80's things together! Take care and godspeed. Jason
