what do you find bizarre about his thoughts? it seems that you are a person with inclusive thinking. so i am going to keep my dalit perspective aside while discussing with you(i sometimes become dalit rhetoric while talking to castist creeps) .

hi, last month you enquired about Dalit Diary but i hadn't logged for a long time; hence replying now.
the book is deserves 2.5/5 rating.
reason: the author lacks objectivity. he is being sarcastic. but he has published interaction between Gandhiji and Dr. Ambedkar and few other rare material which is worth reading. For the 1st time, somebody has published a whole speech of Macaulay on Indian Educational system. This speech shows how modern Indian Education experts manipulate India by selective approach towards Macaulay. I loved reading Macaulay's opinion and interaction between Bapu and Baba.

Dear Sushil, thanks for dropping by my page. In fact, the words that I left as a message on whom you left your comments are Faiz' words, his poem. I like it a lot as a romantic expression, so I posted it on shelfari. And if Faiz were alive he could be in better position to answer your question; however, I would just say that the moon is the only heavenly body known to man that is on the one hand the beautiful most because of our experience of the same, and on the other accessible as well; if the poet had chosen earth, he would have problem applying the same purity and beauty on it while trying to depict an imagery of some pristine heavenly body coupled with beauty and accessible and simultaneously inaccessible for the poet. It could serve a better purpose for the poet, I think. What do you say?

    Dear Sushil

You are right of course. I did see where I was heading. Towards fascism. Killing Muslims or such aggression as they did first. And no it wasn’t right. I felt like the RSS that like must be dealt with like. Being born outside India did make me see what Indians inside couldn’t but it alienated me from the Indian mind of compromise. I think my guru was grooming me to be a Shaivaji type only with the mind of an Arjuna.

I believe in power sharing. People need a stake in their country. I am always happy India being led from the Hindi heartland as that keeps India united. Then a Muslim or south Indian president.

I haven’t seen those movies or books but I will try. I believe in the India of different beliefs but a common core linking us all.

My brother is Christian and pointed out that when younger I was a nightmare. Very intelligent and yet aggressive. I should have been around the time of Bose.

I praise Gandhi as he is one Indian see as Indian not as a Gujurati. He transformed all. He just didn’t leave when it was time to go. But history full of this.

Now despite a few utterances I am a more cosmopolitan man. I wish India could deal better with caste and make an india for equal laws for all our citizens. I am an overseas citizen of India myself as well as British. But my heart soul are all Indian

You are right on this. With the benefit of hindsight we see things anew. But he surrendered Aksai Chin to the Chinese and foolishly ignored centuries of Indian wisdom about arming oneself. Sardar Patel saved him from blunders of Hyderabad and its difficult to explain this one openly due to the sensitivities of others on shelfari! Yes I did have BJP friends but also of congress. I came from a family who resisted British rule. My grandfather was a teenager at Jalan Wala Bagh and he survived. My mother is not Indian and I am a puzzle to all who know me. Yes I longed for a United India. Pakistan fell apart from racism amongst what should have been fellow muslims. The Punjabis wanted to dominate the Bengalis. It took an Indian army to save the Bangladeshis from total defeat and surrender. 6 yr old girls were raped. Indua was divided by muslim separatism and British envy. They did not want a united strong India. But now britain is paying the price for such actions. I am British and I notice a fundamental kind of islam rising. Not the normal kind.
About Nehru there are good things. He was liked internationally but do not forget Sarsar Patel saved him from giving India away. When India gained 'so called independence half was under princely states. Sardar was a bruiser and he was at first nice then issued threats. Nehru was too much of a gentleman and you know no true gentleman can ever rule India!
