I'm the Principal of Decatur High School in Decatur, GA. I am also a grad student studying urban schools, achievement gap and structural inequality. I am keeping my bookshelf with my professional interests. Unfortunately my life right now has little room for "free reading"--however the selections I include here should be intriguing to educators, sociologists, or anyone interested in the hyper/under (depending on your viewpoint) politicized state of today's public schools. Fresh approaches interest me, so please leave me a post with new insights, ideas, readings, etc.

Although the teenagers I work with every day are fabulous, the greatest joy in my life comes from my 7-year old son, Sebastian. He keeps me smiling every day! « less
