I teach Speech, English and Theatre Arts. I was an English major and thought I could just read and write for the rest of my life. Good thing I listened to my mother who said, "You better get your teaching degree!!"
I enjoy cross-country skiing, yoga, Nia, Zumba, hiking, and all of the arts. I love our annual trips to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
I adore my iPod. It helps me work out. At first I was into my music, but now when I go for a walk, I listen to podcasts: favorites are the Moth storytelling podcast, American Theatre Wing, Playbill with Seth Rudetsky, This American Life, Stitchit Podcast, Knitmore Girls and Fresh Air.
I've recently been bitten by the knitting bug. At least I don't feel guilty about "wasting time" when I'm sitting with my honey watching tv on the couch.
My shelf is only my favorites. There are lots of mediocre books I haven't listed. Sometimes I can't understand what all the hype is about concerning the latest best-seller.
