PS - Let me know what you think of the Madaleine Wickham book - if it's as good as and similar to the Sophie Kinsella ones.
Hi Rachel!until I got a message telling me you'd left a note, I hadn't been on here in a while either. Or at least not very regularly. Handle With Care - the disease itself gave me the heebeegeebies, and I kept thinking how fortunate I was to have 2 healthy children. And I did not like that the mother didn't care enough about her relationship with her husband or best friend, and the child dies... I know that was supposed to be the big "twist" at the end. Totally ironic. Sometimes irony bugs me!When I got your message your puppy's picture made me smile again! I'm on to a new book tonight - haven't decided what yet. But I have a bookshelf full to choose from. I'll have to see what you're reading now, too...I keep seeing the commercials for The Lovely Bones movie - wonder if seeing it would totally change how I think of the story, since I loved the book. That's my problem; I don't want the movie to ruin it for me, since it's hard to get the movie to match the book. I wonder if The Time Traveler's Wife movie already came out on dvd. I would love to see how they tried to pull that one off!
I just noticed you didn't care for "Atonement." I started reading it once, but had to quit. I couldn't get into it. I thought maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind or something. Think I should skip it? Maybe see the movie instead?!? haha. I usually like the books better than the movies, but maybe in this case...Also, I read Handle With Care too (Jodi Picoult), and it wasn't one of my favorites of hers. Just wondering what about it you didn't care for?
Oh my gosh, I want a Bernese Mt. Dog!! Is that one, or am I just hallucinating? Beautiful dog, either way!
